ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ අලාභය පියවා ගැනීම සඳහා පනවා තිබූ රුපියල් 50ක බද්ද ඉවත් කිරීම හරහා ජනතාවට සහනයක් ලබා දීමට රජයට හැකියාව පවතින බව ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ සංගමය පවසයි.

කොළඹදී පැවති ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවකට එක්වෙමින් එම සංගමයේ නියෝජිතයින් පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, අදාළ අලාභය මේ වන විට පියවා අවසන් බැවින් එම බද්ද තවදුරටත් පවත්වාගෙන යාම අනවශ්‍ය බවයි.

එමෙන්ම, දැනට ක්‍රියාත්මක QR ක්‍රමවේදය සහ ඉන්ධන ලබාදීමේ සීමාවන් මහජනතාවට පීඩාවක් වන බැවින් ඒවා ද ඉවත් කළ යුතු බව ඔවුන් අවධාරණය කළේය.

මීට අමතරව, ඉන්ධන සඳහා පනවා ඇති සියයට 18ක අගය එකතු කළ බද්ද සහ බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ කොමිස් මුදල සියයට 3 සිට සියයට 1.6 දක්වා අඩු කිරීම හේතුවෙන් තමන් දැඩි ආර්ථික දුෂ්කරතාවලට මුහුණ දී සිටින බව ද ඔවුහු පෙන්වා දුන්හ.

මෙරටට අලුතින් පැමිණි සයිනොපෙක්, අයි.ඕ.සී සහ ආර්.එම් පාර්ක්ස් වැනි සමාගම් ද විවිධ ගැටලුවලට මුහුණ දී සිටින බවත්, මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් බලධාරීන්ගේ කඩිනම් අවධානය යොමු විය යුතු බවත් ඛනිජ තෙල් බෙදුම්කරුවන්ගේ සංගමය වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Fuel Distributors Urge Government to Lift 50 Rupee Tax to Alleviate Public Burden

The Association of Mineral Oil Distributors asserts that the government has the opportunity to ease the burden on the public by removing the Rs. 50 tax imposed to offset losses in the mineral oil sector.

Speaking at a press conference in Colombo, representatives from the association emphasized that the related losses have now been fully mitigated, making the continuation of this tax unnecessary.

They also highlighted that the current QR code method and fuel allocation limits are causing significant stress for the public, calling for their removal as well.

Additionally, they expressed concerns over the compounded 18% tax on fuel, noting that the reduction of distributor commissions from 3% to 1.6% has left them grappling with severe economic hardships.

The association further pointed out that newly established companies in Sri Lanka, such as Sinopec, IOC, and RM Parks, are facing various challenges, urging authorities to promptly address these issues.
