කොළඹට මුහුදේ නැවකින් කන්ටේනර් තොගයක් මුහුදට වැටේ.. ධීවරයන්ට හදිසි අනතුරු ඇඟවීමක්..

කොළඹ වරායේ සිට බස්නාහිර දෙසින් නාවික සැතපුම් 17 ක් පමණ දුරින් වූ මුහුදේදී වෙළඳ නෞකාවකින් හිස් බහාලුම් (Containers) 17 ක් මුහුදට වැටී පාවෙමින් පවතින බව ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නිවේදනය කරයි.

මෙම අනතුර සිදුව ඇත්තේ උතුරු අක්ෂාංශ 06 54’ සහ නැගෙනහිර දේශාංශ 079 32’ ට ආසන්න මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශයේදීය. පවතින මුහුදු දියවැල් ස්වභාවය අනුව මෙම හිස් බහාලුම් බේරුවල සිට මීගමුව හරහා පුත්තලම දක්වා වූ මුහුදු තීරයේ ගොඩබිම දෙසට පාවී ඒමේ වැඩි හැකියාවක් පවතී.

එබැවින්, එම මුහුදු ප්‍රදේශවල රැකියාවේ නිරත වන සහ ගමන් කරමින් පවතින සියලුම බහුදින හා කුඩා ධීවර යාත්‍රා මේ පිළිබඳව දැඩි අවධානයෙන් හා සුපරීක්ෂාකාරීව කටයුතු කරන ලෙස දැනුම් දෙනු ලැබේ.

යම් හෙයකින් මෙම පාවෙමින් පවතින බහාලුම් (කන්ටේනර්) නිරීක්ෂණය වුවහොත්, වහාම ඒ පිළිබඳව ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ගුවන් විදුලි පණිවිඩ මධ්‍යස්ථානය වෙත හෝ ආසන්නතම ධීවර වරාය නිලධාරීන් වෙත දැනුම් දෙන ලෙස කාරුණිකව ඉල්ලා සිටිනු ලැබේ.

Seventeen Empty Containers Adrift off Colombo Coast

The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has reported that a merchant vessel has lost 17 empty containers into the sea, approximately 17 nautical miles off the western coast from the Colombo harbor.

This incident occurred in a marine area defined by the coordinates of 6°54′N and 79°32′E. Given the prevailing sea conditions, there is a significant risk that these containers could drift towards the shoreline stretching from Beruwala through Negombo to Puttalam.

In light of this situation, all fishermen and small craft operators working in or transiting through these waters are advised to exercise heightened vigilance and caution.

If any sighting of the drifting containers occurs, individuals are urged to promptly communicate this information to the nearest Fisheries and Aquatic Resources telecommunication center or local port authorities.
