 ජාතික පුස්තකාල සහ ප්‍රලේඛන සේවා මණ්ඩල සභාපති ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වෙමින් තමන් යොමුකළ ලිපිය ඇමතිතුමා සහ අමාත්‍යංශ ලේකම්තුමා පිළිනොගත් බව ආචාර්ය රත්න ශ්‍රී විජේසිංහ මහතා පවසයි.

එසේම තව දුරටත් තම සේවය ලබා දෙන ලෙස එම දෙදෙනාම කළ කාරුණික ඉල්ලීම තමන්ට පිළිගැනීමට සිදු වූ බවද හෙතෙම අවධාරණය කරයි.

එම ඉල්ලීම ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කළ නොහැකි නිසාම රජයේත් ආයතනයේත් ජනතාවගේ යහපත උදෙසා තව දුරටත් ජාතික පුස්තකාල සහ ප්‍රලේඛන සේවා මණ්ඩල සභාපති ධුරයෙහි කටයුතු කරන බවද ඔහු ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

පසුගියදා සිය ඉල්ලා අස්වීම යොමු කරමින් රත්න ශ්‍රී විජේසිංහ මහතා සඳහන් කළේ තම වයසට යෑමත් සමග ධාරිතාව පටු වන බවත් විවේකය අවශ්‍ය නිසා ඉල්ලා අස්වන බවත්ය.

Chairman of National Library and Documentation Services Board Withdraws Resignation

Dr. Rathnasiri Wijesinghe has announced that his resignation from the position of Chairman of the National Library and Documentation Services Board has been accepted by both the Minister and the Secretary of the Ministry.

He further emphasized that they kindly requested him to continue his service, a plea he felt compelled to accept. Given the significance of his contributions, rejecting such a request was not feasible.

Dr. Wijesinghe stated that he remains committed to fulfilling his duties in the best interest of the public and the institution, highlighting the importance of his role during these challenging times.

In a letter conveying his earlier resignation, he mentioned the physical toll of aging and expressed a need for a break, reinforcing that the demands of the position had begun to weigh on him.
