 වැලිකඩ බන්ධනාගාරයේ රඳවා සිටි රැඳවියෙකු එහි ආරක්ෂක නිලධාරියෙකුට අයත් යතුරුපැදියක් ද සොරාගෙන බන්ධනාගාර පරිශ්‍රයෙන් සූක්ෂ්ම ලෙස පලාගොස් තිබේ.

පසුගිය 25 වනදා සිදුවූ මෙම පලායාම සම්බන්ධයෙන් බන්ධනාගාර බලධාරීන් සහ පොලිසිය පුළුල් විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

මෙසේ පලාගොස් ඇත්තේ මාරවිල, නාත්තන්ඩිය, මැදගොඩ ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචි 45 හැවිරිදි පුද්ගලයෙකි. බන්ධනාගාර ආරංචි මාර්ගවලට අනුව, මෙම සිදුවීම සිදුව ඇත්තේ බන්ධනාගාර නිවාඩු නිකේතනය පිරිසිදු කිරීමේ කටයුතු අතරතුරදීය.

එම නිවාඩු නිකේතනයේ පිරිසිදු කිරීම් සඳහා රැඳවියන් තිදෙනෙකු යොදවා තිබූ අතර, ඔවුන්ගේ අධීක්ෂණ කටයුතු භාරව සිටි බන්ධනාගාර නියාමකවරයා දිවා ආහාරය සඳහා සිය නිල නිවසට ගොස් තිබේ.

එම අවස්ථාවෙන් ප්‍රයෝජන ගත් මෙම රැඳවියා, තමන් ඇඳ සිටි බන්ධනාගාර ජම්පරය ගලවා දමා නිවාඩු නිකේතනයේ තිබූ සරමක් ඇඳගෙන ඇත. අනතුරුව නියාමකවරයා විසින් යතුර සහිතව නවතා දමා තිබූ රුපියල් 150,000ක් පමණ වටිනා යතුරුපැදිය පදවාගෙන ඔහු බන්ධනාගාර ප්‍රධාන දොරටුවෙන් ලෙස්ලි රණගල මාවත දෙසට පලාගොස් ඇති බව අනාවරණය වී ඇත.

නියාමකවරයා ආපසු පැමිණ බලන විට එක් රැඳවියෙකු සහ සිය යතුරුපැදිය අතුරුදන්ව ඇති බව දැක ඒ පිළිබඳව බොරැල්ල පොලිසියට පැමිණිලි කර තිබේ.

පලාගිය රැඳවියා අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සඳහා බන්ධනාගාර නිලධාරීන් කණ්ඩායමක් සහ බොරැල්ල පොලිසිය එක්ව විශේෂ මෙහෙයුමක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කර ඇත.

Prisoner Escapes from Welikada Jail Using Guard’s Motorcycle

A daring escape from Welikada Prison has raised serious concerns about security after an inmate reportedly stole a motorcycle belonging to a prison guard and made a swift getaway from the facility.

This incident, which took place on the 25th of the month, has prompted prison authorities and law enforcement to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

The escaped individual, a 45-year-old resident of the Marawila, Nattandiya, and Madagoda areas, took advantage of a cleaning operation at the prison's leave quarters to make his move.

During the cleaning, three inmates were assigned to work, but their supervision was temporarily left to the prison officer, who had departed for his official residence to have lunch.

Seizing the opportunity, the inmate removed his prison jumpsuit and donned casual clothing found in the leave quarters. Subsequently, he accessed a motorcycle, reportedly valued at around Rs. 150,000, that was left unlocked by the prison officer.

Upon the officer's return, he discovered that one inmate was missing along with his motorcycle, prompting him to file a complaint with the Boralesgamuwa police.

In response, a joint operation has been launched by prison officials and the Boralesgamuwa police to apprehend the escaped inmate.
