විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම යන වයස දීර්ඝ කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් පවතින ගැටලුකාරී තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව සිය දැඩි අවධානය යොමු කරමින් ත්‍රෛනිකායික මහානායක ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේලා ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා වෙත විශේෂ ලිපියක් යොමු කර ඇති බව මල්වතු පාර්ශවයේ මහානායක අතිපූජ්‍ය තිබ්බටුවාවේ ශ්‍රී සිද්ධාර්ථ සුමංගල නාහිමියෝ ප්‍රකාශ කරති.

මහනුවරදී අද තමන් වහන්සේ හමුවීමට පැමිණි 'නිදහස් නීතිඥයෝ' සහ 'දිනන දකුණ' යන සිවිල් සංවිධානවල නියෝජිත පිරිසක් සමග සාකච්ඡා කරමින් උන්වහන්සේ මේ බව අනාවරණය කළහ.

විනිසුරුවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස වැඩිකිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් මහානායක හිමිවරුන් සිය කනස්සල්ල ජනාධිපතිවරයා වෙත ලිඛිතව දැනුම් දී ඇති බව මෙහිදී සඳහන් විය.

නීති පද්ධතියේ පවතින අඩුපාඩු සහ ව්‍යවස්ථාපිත ගැටලු පිළිබඳව සිවිල් සංවිධාන සිදුකරන මැදිහත්වීම් අගය කරන බව ද මහානායක හිමියන් මෙහිදී පවසා ඇත.

මෙම හමුවට එක්වූ නියෝජිත පිරිස සඳහන් කළේ, රටේ අධිකරණ පද්ධතියේ ස්වාධීනත්වය සහ නීතියේ ආධිපත්‍යය සුරැකීම වෙනුවෙන් මහානායක හිමිවරුන් දක්වන මෙම උනන්දුව ඉතා වැදගත් වන බවයි.

Clerics Urge Presidential Attention on Judicial Retirement Age Issue

In a notable move, prominent Buddhist clerics have directed their focus towards the contentious issues surrounding the extension of retirement age for judges, submitting a special letter to President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka. This communication was revealed by the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera.

During a meeting in Kandy with representatives from civil organizations including "Free Lawyers" and "Dinanada Kula," the Chief Prelate highlighted their concerns. He indicated that they had sent the letter to the President, expressing uncertainty about the response it received.

"We have submitted a letter, but we do not know what has happened regarding it," remarked the Chief Prelate.

It was noted that the Maha Nayaka Theras had conveyed their apprehensions to the President regarding the retirement age of judges. They emphasized the importance of addressing existing deficiencies and constitutional challenges within the legal framework.

The representatives who attended the discussion appreciated the clerics' commitment to upholding the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law, deeming it crucial for the country's judicial system.
