පවතින දැඩි අයහපත් කාලගුණයත් සමග විදුලි බලයද වරින් වර ඇනහිටිම හේතුවෙන් ජන ජීවිතයට බාධා පැමිණ ඇත.

නෝටන්බ්‍රිජ් ප්‍රදේශයට ඇදහැලෙන අධික වර්ෂාවත් සමග විමළසුරේන්ද්‍ර ජලාශය වාන් දැම්මට පටන් ගෙන ඇති අතර, කැනියොන් ජලශයේ ද එක් වාන් දොරටුවක් විවෘත කර ඇති බවයි කැනියොන් ජල විදුලි බලාගාරයේ නිළධාරියෙකු කියා සිටියේ.

පවතින වර්ෂාවත් සමග කාසල්රි සහ මාවුස්සාකැලේ ජලශවල ජල මට්ටම ඉහළ යමින් පවතින බවයි එම ජලශභාර ඉංජිනේරුවන් කියා සිටියේ.

Severe Weather Disrupts Life in Central Highlands

Residents in the western mountainous regions of Sri Lanka are grappling with intense storms accompanied by high winds that have been impacting daily life since nightfall. The prevailing adverse weather conditions have led to frequent power outages, exacerbating the challenges faced by communities in the area.

Heavy rains have caused significant concern, particularly in the Nothbridge area, where the Wilma Surendra reservoir has begun releasing water. Officials at the Canyon Hydro Power Plant confirmed that one of the spill gates has been opened in response to the rising water levels.

Engineering teams from various water management facilities, including the Kasalri and Mawusakale reservoirs, report that water levels are continuing to rise due to the ongoing rainfall. The situation remains critical, and measures are being taken to manage the effects of the heavy downpour.
