ජාත්‍යන්තර මූල්‍ය අරමුදල සමඟ පැවැති සාකච්ඡා සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතාගේ මැදිහත්වීම තීරණාත්මක වූ බවත්, ඔහු නොසිටින්නට එම වැඩපිළිවෙළ නිසි පරිදි ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට නොහැකි වනු ඇති බවත් හිටපු තානාපතිවරයා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.

තමා පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී ධුරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වී තානාපති ධුරය භාර ගැනීමට ගත් තීරණය නිවැරදි බව අද වන විට තහවුරු වී ඇති බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

එම අවස්ථාවේදී තමා පසුපෙළ මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකු ලෙස සිටීමෙන් රටට සේවයක් කිරීමට අවස්ථාවක් නොලැබුණු බවත්, තානාපතිවරයා ලෙස ජාත්‍යන්තර මූල්‍ය අරමුදල සමඟ මුල්ම යෝජනාව ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට තමාට හැකි වූ බවත් ඔහු සිහිපත් කළේය.

එමෙන්ම, ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදය විසින් මෙරට ශ්‍රමිකයන් සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකරන විමර්ශන සහ තීරුබදු සහන පිළිබඳව ද අදහස් දැක්වූ මහින්ද සමරසිංහ මහතා, ඉදිරියේදී ප්‍රතිපත්තිමය වෙනස්කම් සිදුවුවහොත් එමගින් ආර්ථිකයට යම් අවදානමක් ඇතිවිය හැකි බව ද පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

රජය විසින් ගනු ලබන තීරණ මත ජාත්‍යන්තර සහයෝගීතාවය රඳා පවතින බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Former Diplomat Warns Economy Lacks Stability for Political Change

Former Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe may face significant challenges ahead, with no feasible potential for economic stabilization in the country, warns Mahinda Samarasinghe, a former Sri Lankan ambassador to the United States.

Speaking during a discussion with Hiru TV, Samarasinghe emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting that Wickremesinghe's involvement had been critical in brokering discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He pointed out that without Wickremesinghe's leadership, the necessary processes may struggle to progress effectively.

He articulated that his decision to resign from his parliamentary seat to assume the ambassadorial role has proven to be correct in hindsight. This experience as an ambassador provided him an opportunity to play a significant role in presenting the initial proposals to the IMF, which he believes were crucial for Sri Lanka.

Samarasinghe further commented on the ongoing investigations and tax relief efforts concerning Sri Lankan workers conducted by the United States, noting that any future policy changes could pose risks to the nation's economy.

He cautioned that the international support currently received by the government is contingent upon decisive actions and decisions made by the administration.
