 මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික්කය නියෝජනය කරමින් ඉදිරියේදී යළි මැතිවරණ සඳහා ඉදිරිපත් වීමේ බලාපොරොත්තුවක් තමන්ට නොමැති බව කෘෂිකර්ම, පශු සම්පත්, ඉඩම් සහ වාරිමාර්ග අමාත්‍ය කේ.ඩී. ලාල් කාන්ත මහතා පවසයි.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, මෙවර මැතිවරණය සඳහා තමන් ඉදිරිපත් වූයේ ද ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ විශේෂ ඉල්ලීමකට අනුව බවයි.

පුද්ගලයන් දේශපාලනයට පැමිණීම සහ නික්ම යාම සාමාන්‍ය ක්‍රියාවලියක් වුවද, රජයේ ඉදිරි ගමන අඛණ්ඩව සිදුවන බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

"දේශපාලනය කරනවා කියන්නේ හැමදාම මන්ත්‍රීකම්, ඇමතිකම් කරන එක නෙවෙයි. මම අවුරුදු 42ක් තිස්සේ දේශපාලනය කරනවා. අපේ ටිල්වින් සිල්වා සහෝදරයා කවදාවත් මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙක් හෝ ඇමතිවරයෙක් වුණේ නැහැ. නමුත් ඔහු සක්‍රීයව දේශපාලනයේ නිරත වෙනවා. අවශ්‍ය නම් ඔහුට ජාතික ලැයිස්තුවෙන් වුවද පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට පැමිණිය හැකියි. නමුත් අපේ අරමුණ තනතුරු ලබා ගැනීමම නෙවෙයි," යනුවෙන් ද අමාත්‍යවරයා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

විපක්ෂයේ ක්‍රියාකලාපය විවේචනය කළ අමාත්‍යවරයා, රජය පෙරළීමට උත්සාහ කරන විපක්ෂයට අවම වශයෙන් සියලු දෙනා ඒකරාශී කරගත හැකි නායකයෙකු හෝ නොමැති බව පැවසීය.

සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ විපක්ෂ නායකවරයා වුවද, රටේ පොදු ජනතාව පිළිගන්නා නායකයෙකු ලෙස විපක්ෂය ශක්තිමත් විය යුතු බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

සමාජයේ පවතින වැරදි මතයක් වන 'දේශපාලනය යනු මැතිවරණවලට ඉදිරිපත් වීම පමණක්' යන චින්තනය වෙනස් විය යුතු බවත්, තමන් තනතුරු දැරුවත් නැතත් දේශපාලන ක්‍රියාවලිය තුළ නිරන්තරයෙන් රැඳී සිටින බවත් අමාත්‍ය කේ.ඩී. ලාල් කාන්ත මහතා මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

K.D. Lal Kantha Disclaims Future Political Aspirations

K.D. Lal Kantha, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation, has stated that he does not foresee a return to the political arena for upcoming elections representing the Kandy District. His comments were made during a recent media briefing.

During the interaction, Lal Kantha emphasized that his participation in the current elections was influenced by a special request from the President. He acknowledged that while individuals entering and exiting politics is a commonplace occurrence, the government's progress must continue unhindered.

"Being involved in politics does not simply mean holding ministerial or parliamentary positions. I have been engaged in politics for 42 years. Our late brother Tilvin Silva was never a parliamentarian or minister, yet he remained actively involved in the political scene. If necessary, he could have entered parliament through the national list. However, our goal is not just to attain positions," he asserted.

Commenting on the opposition's activities, the minister critiqued their attempts to destabilize the government, stating that there is a lack of a unifying leader who can rally everyone behind a common cause. While Sajith Premadasa serves as the opposition leader in parliament, Lal Kantha stressed the importance of the opposition being led by a figure that resonates with the general populace.

He also called for a shift in the prevailing misconception that politics solely involves contesting elections. Despite not holding any official positions, Lal Kantha reassured that he remains committed to the political process actively.
