 ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික ක්‍රිකට් කණ්ඩායමේ හිටපු ප්‍රධාන පුහුණුකරු චන්දික හතුරුසිංහ මහතා සමඟ පැවති සේවා ගිවිසුම නිසි පරිදි ක්‍රියාත්මක නොකර එය කඩකිරීම හේතුවෙන්, ඔහුට ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් 164,000ක (රුපියල් කෝටි 6කට ආසන්න) වන්දි මුදලක් ගෙවීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය තීරණය කර තිබේ.

හතුරුසිංහ මහතා සිය ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීමට එරෙහිව ස්විට්සර්ලන්තයේ ක්‍රීඩා බේරුම්කරණ අධිකරණයේ පවරා තිබූ නඩුව සමථයකට පත් කරගැනීම සඳහා දෙපාර්ශ්වයම එකඟ වීමත් සමඟ මෙම වන්දි මුදල ගෙවීමට නියමිතය.

2017 වසරේදී වසර තුනක කාලසීමාවක් සඳහා ප්‍රධාන පුහුණුකරු ලෙස පත් කෙරුණු ඔහු, 2019 වසරේදී එම ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීමට ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය පියවර ගෙන තිබුණි.

තමන්ව ධුරයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීම අසාධාරණ බව පවසමින් හතුරුසිංහ මහතා මුලින් ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන පහක වන්දියක් ඉල්ලා සිටි අතර, පසුව එය ඩොලර් 450,000ක් දක්වා අඩු කර තිබුණි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, දීර්ඝ සාකච්ඡාවලින් අනතුරුව ඩොලර් 164,000ක මුදලක් ගෙවා නඩුව ඉල්ලා අස්කර ගැනීමට දෙපාර්ශ්වයම එකඟ වී ඇත.

හතුරුසිංහ මහතාගේ පුහුණුකාරීත්වය යටතේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා කණ්ඩායම ලැබූ පසුබෑම සහ ඔහුගේ සේවය පිළිබඳව සෑහීමකට පත් නොවීම හේතුවෙන් ඔහුව ඉවත් කළ බව ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය මීට පෙර ප්‍රකාශ කර තිබුණි.

මෙම සිදුවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු පොදු ව්‍යාපාර පිළිබඳ කාරක සභාවේදී ද දැඩි ලෙස සාකච්ඡාවට බඳුන් වූ අතර, එහිදී අනාවරණය වූයේ නීතිමය ගැටලු මඟහරවා ගැනීම සඳහා මෙම සමථයට එළඹුණු බවයි.

Sri Lanka Cricket to Pay $164,000 Compensation to Former Coach Chandika Hathurusingha

Sri Lanka Cricket has agreed to settle a dispute with former head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, resulting in a compensation payment of approximately $164,000 (around 60 million LKR). This decision stems from the alleged breach of his service contract, which was not conducted properly.

The two parties reached an agreement to pay the compensation as part of a settlement in a lawsuit lodged in a sports arbitration court in Switzerland concerning Hathurusingha's dismissal from his position.

Appointed as head coach in 2017 for a three-year term, Hathurusingha was removed in 2019 by Sri Lanka Cricket due to perceived failures in performance and disappointing results under his leadership.

Initially, he sought a whopping $5 million in damages, asserting that his dismissal was unjust. However, this amount was later reduced to $450,000 during negotiations.

After extensive discussions, both sides have now agreed on the reduced compensation of $164,000 to resolve the legal matter amicably.

Sri Lanka Cricket had previously stated that Hathurusingha's removal resulted from the team’s poor performances and dissatisfaction with his coaching tenure.

This issue has also been a topic of intense discussion within the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises, where it was revealed that the settlement was reached to avoid further legal complications.
