බස් රථ නැලතුම්පලවල වෙනත් වාහන නැවතීම ගැන නීතිය ක‍්‍රියාත්මක කරයි..

 පොදු මගී ප්‍රවාහන බස් රථ නවතා මගීන් නැංවීම හා බැස්සවීමේ කාර්‌ය සඳහා ඉදිකර තිබෙන බස් රථ නැවතුම් ස්ථානවල (Bus Stopping Place) බොහෝ අවස්ථාවලදී වෙනත් වාහන නවත්වා තැබීම හේතුවෙන් එම බස් රථ මාර්ගයේ නැවැත්වීමට බස් රථ රියැදුරන් හට සිදුවේ. 

ඒ හේතුවෙන් මාර්ගයේ රථවාහන තදබදයක්ද නිර්මාණය වීම සිදු වන අතර මගීන්ගේ ජීවිත අවදානමටද ලක් වන බවද නිරීක්ෂණය වේ.

මේ වන විට ආබාධිත පුද්ගලයන් සඳහා රෝද පුටු මඟින් ගමන් කිරීමට හැකියාව පවතින බස් රථ සේවාවක්ද හඳුන්වා දී තිබෙන බැවින් බස් රථ නැවතුම් ස්ථාන වල එම බස්‌රථ නැවැත්වීමට හැකි පරිදි අවහිරතාවයන්ගෙන් තොරව පැවතිය යුතුවේ. 

වෙනත් වාහන නවතා අවහිර කර ඇති විට ආබාධිත පුද්ගලයින්ට මෙන්ම මගීන්ටද බස් රථ වලට නැගීමේදි හා බැසීමේදි අනතුරුදායක තත්ත්වයකට මුහුණ පෑමට සිදු වනු ඇත.

මේ සම්බන්ධව රජයේ අති විශේෂ ගැසට්‌ පත්‍රයක්ද නිකුත් කර ඇති අතර බස් රථ නැවතුම් ස්ථානයට ළඟා වීමට මීටර් 30 ක් ඇතුළත හා පිටවන මීටර් 15 ක් ඇතුළතවාහන නවතා තැබීම එම ගැසට්‌ පත්‍රය මඟින් තහනම් කර ඇත. 

එම ගැසට්‌ පත්‍රය මඟින් බස් නෙරුව (Bus Bays) සහිත බස් නැවතුම් ස්ථානයට ලඟාවෙන පැත්තෙන් මීටර් 15 ක් ද, පිටවීමේ දෙසින් මීටර් 10 ක්ද ඇතුලත අනෙකුත් වාහන නතර කර තැබීම තහනම් කර ඇත.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසියද මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අවධානය යොමු කර ඇති අතර මගී ජනතාවගේ ආරක්ෂාව, සුරක්ෂිතතාව තහවුරු කරමින් ඔවුනට බස් රථ වලට නැගීමට හා බැසීමට හැකියාව ලැබෙන පරිදි බස් රථ නැවතුම් ස්ථානවල වෙනත් වාහන නවතා තබන රියැදුරන් සම්බන්ධයෙන් නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට සියළු පොලිස් ස්ථානයන් දැනුවත් කර ඇත.

New Regulations Address Bus Stopping Safety Amid Traffic Concerns

In a growing issue for public transport, bus drivers have been facing increasing difficulties due to other vehicles obstructing bus stopping places, hindering their ability to pick up and drop off passengers safely. The impact of this obstruction not only exacerbates traffic congestion but also raises concerns for passenger safety.

Authorities have introduced a service catering to individuals with disabilities, providing a wheelchair-accessible bus option. To facilitate this service effectively, bus stopping places must be free from hindrances to ensure that they can stop without complications.

The presence of illegally parked vehicles poses serious hazards for all passengers, particularly for those with disabilities attempting to board or alight from buses. The situation has prompted the issuance of a special government gazette, which prohibits the stopping of vehicles within 30 meters of a bus stopping place and 15 meters towards the departing direction.

This gazette further specifies that vehicles may not park within 15 meters of bus bays when approaching the bus stopping areas and within 10 meters when moving away from them. The Sri Lanka Police have also taken note of these regulations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining passenger safety and securing compliance from drivers who violate these parking rules.

In an effort to uphold these safety measures, police stations have been instructed to enforce the new guidelines, ensuring that passengers can safely embark and disembark from buses without undue risk.
