මධ්‍යම කදුකරයට ඇද හැලෙන අධික වැසි තත්වයන් හේතුවෙන් නල්ලතන්නිය ශ්‍රිපාද මාර්ගයේ ඇහැල කණුව ප්‍රදේශයේ සිදුව ඇති පස් කදු කඩා වැටිමකින් එම මාර්ගය අවහිරවි ඇත.

මෙම තත්වයන් පිලිබදව කරන ලද විමසිමකදි අදහස් දැක්වු හැටන් ජේශ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරි ප්‍රදිප් වීරසේකර මහතා පවසන ලද්දේ මෙම ප්‍රදේශයන්ට පවතින වැසි තත්වයන් මත නල්ලතන්නිය ශ්‍රිපාද මාර්ගයේ ඇහැල කණුව අසල පස් කන්දක කොටසක් එම මාර්ගයට කඩා වැටිමෙන් මාර්ගය අවහිරවි ඇති බවත්ය.

මෙසේ මාර්ගයට කඩාවැටි ඇති පස් ඉවත් කර එම මාර්ගය යථා තත්වයට පත් කිරිමට නිලධාරින් පිරිසක් එම ප්‍රදේශයට යැවිමට පියවර ගත් බවද ප්‍රදිප් වීරසේකර මහතා වැඩි දුරටත් පැවසිය.

Heavy Rain Triggers Landslide, Blocking Nallathanniya-Sripada Road

Recent heavy rains have led to a significant landslide in the mountainous regions of Sri Lanka, obstructing the Nallathanniya-Sripada road near the Ahalekannuwa area. The inclement weather has reportedly caused a section of the hillside to collapse onto the roadway, creating hazardous conditions for motorists.

In a statement regarding the situation, Senior Police Officer Pradip Weerasekara noted that the altered rainfall patterns have exacerbated the risk of landslides in the affected areas, resulting in this critical obstruction on the Nallathanniya-Sripada road.

Efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore normalcy to the road. A team of officials has been dispatched to the site to manage the cleanup operations and ensure the safety of travelers, according to Weerasekara.
