නායකයන් දාන්න වෙනම හිර ගෙයක් හැදුවා..

මහා පරිමාණ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරම්කරුවන් සහ පාතාල නායකයන් රඳවා තැබීම සඳහා වැලිකඩ බන්ධනාගාරය තුළ විශේෂිත ඒකකයක් ස්ථාපිත කර ඇති බව සෞඛ්‍ය හා ජනමාධ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය වෛද්‍ය නලින්ද ජයතිස්ස මහතා පවසයි.

ජන හමුවක් අමතමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා අවධාරණය කළේ, මෙරට මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාලය සහ පාතාල ක්‍රියාකාරකම් මුලිනුපුටා දැමීම සඳහා රජය දැඩි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගනිමින් සිටින බවයි.

මාත්‍යවරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේ 'කුඩු' සහ 'අයිස්' වැනි මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරම්වල නිරත වන ප්‍රධාන පෙළේ අපරාධකරුවන් ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් මෙම විශේෂ බන්ධනාගාර පහසුකම් සකස් කර ඇති බවයි.

පාතාල කල්ලි අතර පවතින ගැටුම් මේ වන විට සැලකිය යුතු මට්ටමකින් මර්දනය කර ඇති බවත්, නීතිය සැමට සමානව ක්‍රියාත්මක කරමින් කිසිදු දේශපාලන බලපෑමකින් තොරව අපරාධකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව කටයුතු කරන බවත් ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

පවතින දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතියේ සිදු කර ඇති වෙනස්කම් පිළිබඳව අදහස් දක්වමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මෙසේ ද පැවසීය:

"අද අමාත්‍යවරුන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාවට පොලිස් රථ පෙළපාලි නැහැ. අතීතයේ අමාත්‍යවරුන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාවට යොදවා සිටි පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් සියලු දෙනා යළි පොලිස් සේවයට අනුයුක්ත කර තිබෙනවා. මීට අමතරව පොලිස් සේවයට අලුතින් 10,000ක් බඳවා ගැනීමටත්, ඔවුන්ට නව නිල ඇඳුමක් හඳුන්වා දීමටත් කටයුතු කරනවා. මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් අහෝසි කර තිබෙනවා. ජනාධිපති මන්දිර සහ අමාත්‍ය බංගලා රජයේ වැදගත් කටයුතු සඳහා පවරා ගත්තා. ඉන් අටක් මහාධිකරණ සඳහාත්, එකක් විශ්‍රාම වැටුප් කොමිසම සඳහාත් ලබා දී තිබෙනවා."

රජයේ වරප්‍රසාද අහිමි වූ කණ්ඩායම් විවිධ අසත්‍ය ප්‍රචාර පතුරුවමින් සිටින බවත්, වසර දෙකක් ඇතුළත රටේ පවතින තත්ත්වය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම වෙනස් කිරීමට රජය කැපවී සිටින බවත් අමාත්‍යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. මෙම සංවර්ධන සහ ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ ක්‍රියාවලිය සඳහා මහජනතාවගේ සක්‍රීය දායකත්වය ද අත්‍යවශ්‍ය බව ඔහු පවසා සිටියේය.

Special Unit Established at Welikada Prison to Combat Drug Trafficking

A specialized unit has been set up at the Welikada Prison specifically to detain major drug traffickers and gang leaders, as revealed by Minister of Health and Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Addressing a public meeting, the Minister emphasized the government's vigorous measures to dismantle drug networks and organized criminal activities in the country.

He disclosed that these new prison facilities have been created to target leading criminals involved in the trafficking of substances like 'kudu' and 'ice'.

Highlighting the significant decline in clashes among gang members, Dr. Jayatissa noted that law enforcement operates uniformly for all, free from political interference in the fight against crime.

Reflecting on the changes within the current political culture, he stated, “There are no more police convoys for the protection of ministers. All police officers previously assigned for ministerial security have been reassigned to regular police service. Additionally, efforts are underway to recruit 10,000 new officers, and a new uniform is also being introduced for them. The pension plans for ministers have been revoked, with essential governmental duties now overseen by the Presidential Secretariat and Ministry of Finance. Eight positions have been allocated to the Supreme Court and one to the Pension Commission.”

The Minister further remarked that groups deprived of state privileges are spreading various false propaganda, while assuring the public that the government is committed to completely transforming the existing situation within two years. He reiterated the importance of active public participation in these development and reform processes.
