මුලතිව් - සෙම්මමාලෙයි මාර්ගයේදී කොක්කිලායි පොලිසිය සිදුකළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී මෙම පිරිස අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ පසුගිය 16 වනදාය.

අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා අවස්ථාවේදී සැකකරුවන් සන්තකයේ තිබී හෙරොයින් ග්‍රෑම් 3ක් සහ අයිස් මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ග්‍රෑම් 2ක් පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන ඇත.

පොලිස් ප්‍රශ්න කිරීම් හමුවේ සැකකරුවන් පවසා ඇත්තේ මෙම මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය තමන්ගේ පරිභෝජනය සඳහා රැගෙන ආ බවයි.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, පොලිසියට ලැබී ඇති බුද්ධි තොරතුරු මගින් අනාවරණය වී ඇත්තේ මොවුන් මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය අලෙවි කිරීමේ ජාවාරමක නිරතව සිටින පිරිසක් බවයි.

Five Suspects, Including Local Council Deputy Chairman, Arrested for Drug Possession in Mullaitivu

In a significant raid, five individuals, including the deputy chairman of the Mullaitivu Local Council, were apprehended by the Kokkilai Police on drug possession charges involving heroin and ice (methamphetamine).

The arrests took place on the 16th of this month during a targeted operation conducted by the Kokkilai Police along the Semmamalei Road.

At the time of their arrest, authorities seized three grams of heroin and two grams of ice from the suspects, who were found in possession of the illicit substances.

During police questioning, the suspects claimed that they had acquired the drugs for personal use. However, intelligence reports suggest that they are part of a broader network involved in drug trafficking.

The Kokkilai Police are conducting further investigations into the suspects, who are set to be presented before the Mullaitivu Magistrate's Court.
