 ජනතාව ලබාදුන් ජනවරමට අනුව දූෂණය නැවැත්වීමටත්, හොරුන්ට දඬුවම් ලබාදීමටත් රජය කැපවී සිටින බව කර්මාන්ත අමාත්‍ය සුනිල් හදුන්නෙත්ති මහතා පවසයි.

මාධ්‍ය වෙත අදහස් දක්වමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ, පාස්කු ප්‍රහාරය සහ මහ බැංකු බැඳුම්කර වංචාව වැනි රටට සහ ජනතාවට සිදුකළ අපරාධ පිළිබඳව විධිමත් පරීක්ෂණ පවත්වා යුක්තිය ඉටුකිරීමට රජය කටයුතු කරන බවයි.

රාජ්‍ය බලය අවභාවිත කරමින් සිදුකළ දූෂණ හා වංචා නීතිය හමුවට ගෙන ඒම රජයේ ප්‍රමුඛ කාර්යයක් බව ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය.

මන්දයත්, එවැනි තීරණ හරහා ආණ්ඩුව පිරිහීමට ලක්වන බැවින් එය විපක්ෂයට වාසිදායක තත්ත්වයක් වන නිසා බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

"යම් තීරණයක් නිසා රටට කෙළවෙනවා නම්, ආණ්ඩුව පිරිහෙනවා නම් විපක්ෂය ඒ ගැන සතුටු වෙන්න ඕනේ. මොකද ඒකෙන් ඔවුන්ට බලය ලැබෙන නිසා. නමුත් ඔවුන් දන්නවා මෙතන වෙන්නේ හානියක් නෙමෙයි කියලා. නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක වෙනකොට තමන්ට හිරේ යන්න වෙයි කියන බය ඔවුන්ට තිබෙනවා" යැයි ද අමාත්‍යවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.

රජය ගන්නා සෑම තීරණයකම වගකීම භාරගන්නා බවත්, මෙම නීතිමය සංශෝධන හරහා අතීතයේ සිදුවූ වැරදි නිවැරදි කර අනාගත ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන බවත් සුනිල් හදුන්නෙත්ති මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.
