 පොදු දේපළවලට තමන්ගේ නම් යොදාගනිමින් ප්‍රසිද්ධියක් ලබා ගැනීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ කිසිදු හරයක් නොමැති 'හෑල්ලු' මිනිසුන් බව ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් ටිල්වින් සිල්වා මහතා පවසයි.

ෆිදෙල් කැස්ත්‍රෝ ගුණසමරු උත්සවයක් අමතමින් ඒ මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, කියුබාවේ කිසිදු ස්ථානයක ෆිදෙල් කැස්ත්‍රෝගේ නම සඳහන් කර නොමැති වුවද ඔහු අදටත් ලෝකවාසී ජනතාවගේ හදවත් තුළ ජීවත් වන බවයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පවතින දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතිය දැඩි ලෙස විවේචනය කරමින් ඔහු කියා සිටියේ, මෙරට පෙර සිටි පාලකයන් පාසල්, ක්‍රීඩාංගණ සහ මාර්ග ඇතුළු සෑම පොදු ස්ථානයකටම තමන්ගේ නම් යොදාගෙන ඇති බවයි.

"අපේ රටේ පාරක යන්න බැහැ, හැම තැනම කලින් හිටපු අයගේ නම් ගහලා. ඉස්කෝලවල, ක්‍රීඩාංගණවල, පාරවල්වල හැම තැනම නම් ගහගෙන තිබුණට මිනිස්සුන්ගේ හිතේ ඒ නම් නැහැ," යනුවෙන් ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

සැබෑ නායකයෙකු යනු ගොඩනැගිලිවල නම ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරගන්නා අයෙකු නොව, ජනතාවගේ ගෞරවය දිනාගන්නා අයෙකු බවත්, එවැනි නම් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරගැනීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ කිසිදු බරක් නොමැති පුද්ගලයන් බවත් ටිල්වින් සිල්වා මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළේය.

Youth Leader Critiques Political Culture Amid Fidel Castro Tribute

The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Tilvin Silva, has criticized individuals who seek recognition by exploiting public assets, branding them as 'shadowy' figures lacking integrity.

During a tribute to Fidel Castro, Silva emphasized that although Castro's name is absent in Cuba, he continues to live on in the hearts of people worldwide.

He sharply critiqued the political culture in Sri Lanka, pointing out that former rulers have historically inscribed their names on educational institutions, sports complexes, and public roads.

"We cannot walk down our streets without encountering names from the past plastered everywhere—schools, stadiums, and roads—all reflect this historical branding. Yet, those names hold no place in the hearts of the people," he lamented.

He further asserted that true leadership is about winning the respect and honor of the people, not showcasing names in buildings, calling out the insipid attempts of those without substance to seek recognition.
