 පිරිවැය ආවරණය වන පරිදි ඉන්ධන මිල නියම කිරීමේ යාන්ත්‍රණයක් කඩිනමින් යළි ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලෙස මෙරට ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීමේ නිරත පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් රජයෙන් ඉල්ලීමක් කර තිබේ.

ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් ඉහළ යෑම සහ නාවික ප්‍රවාහන ගාස්තු ඉහළ දැමීම හමුවේ, මේ වන විට ඩීසල් ලීටරයක් බෙදාහැරීමේදී රුපියල් 170 ක පමණ අලාභයක් දැරීමට සිදුව ඇති බව එම සමාගම් පෙන්වා දෙයි.

මේ පිළිබඳව අදාළ පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් එක්ව බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යවරයා සහ අමාත්‍යාංශ ලේකම්වරයා වෙත කරුණු වාර්තා කර ඇති බවද අනාවරණය වේ.

රජය විසින් මීට පෙර ඩීසල් ලීටරයක් සඳහා ලබාදුන් රුපියල් 100 ක සහනාධාරය මෙන්ම පෙට්‍රල් ලීටරයක් සඳහා ලබාදුන් රුපියල් 20 ක සහනාධාරය පසුගිය ජූලි මාසයේ සිට අත්හිටුවීමට පියවර ගත්තේය.

එම තීරණයත් සමඟ ඉදිරි ඉන්ධන තොග ඇණවුම් කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මූල්‍ය ප්‍රතිපාදන සපයා ගැනීමේ දැඩි අර්බුදයකට මුහුණ දී සිටින බව මෙරට ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීමේ නිරත පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් සඳහන් කරයි.

පිරිවැයට සරිලන පරිදි මිල සංශෝධනයක් සිදු නොවන්නේ නම්, සමාගම් වෙත සිදුවන පාඩුව හමුවේ අඛණ්ඩ ඉන්ධන සැපයුමක් පවත්වාගෙන යාම දැඩි අවදානමකට ලක්වනු ඇති බවටද එම පාර්ශව අනතුරු අඟවයි.

මේ අතර, පවතින ගැටලුකාරී වාතාවරණය හමුවේ ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල් වෙත සැපයෙන තොග සීමාසහිත වී ඇති බව පිරවුම්හල් සේවකයෝ ප්‍රකාශ කරති.

මෙරට ප්‍රදේශ කිහිපයක පිහිටි ඇතැම් පෞද්ගලික ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල්වල 'ඩීසල් නැත' යනුවෙන් පුවරු ප්‍රදර්ශනය කර ඇති අයුරුද දක්නට ලැබෙති.

Private Fuel Distributors Urge Government to Revive Pricing Mechanism

Amid rising global fuel prices and escalating maritime transport costs, private fuel companies in Sri Lanka are urgently calling on the government to reinstate a fuel pricing mechanism that aligns with operational expenses.

These companies report suffering an approximate loss of Rs. 170 per liter when distributing diesel, highlighting the financial strain inflicted by current market conditions.

In a collective effort, representatives from the affected private firms have submitted detailed findings to the Minister of Power and Energy and the Secretary of the Ministry.

The government previously terminated financial assistance, which included Rs. 100 per liter for diesel and Rs. 20 for petrol, in July, exacerbating the situation for fuel distributors seeking to procure necessary stock.

With the suspension of subsidies, these companies now face a severe crisis in securing funding for future fuel orders, raising concerns about their ability to maintain a continuous supply.

Failure to adjust prices in accordance with operational expenses could jeopardize their sustainability, creating a significant risk of fuel shortages, warns the industry.

Furthermore, amid these challenging circumstances, fuel filling stations are experiencing limited supply, as noted by workers who report restrictions on incoming shipments.

In several regions, private fuel stations are posting notices stating "No Diesel Available," reflecting the ongoing supply shortages and potential service disruptions for consumers.
