 මන්නාරම ද්‍රෝණියේ ස්වභාවික ගෑස් ගවේෂණය සහ නිස්සාරණය කිරීමේ කටයුතු ඉදිරි වසර 3ත් 5ත් අතර කාලය තුළ සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන බව ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ මයුර නෙත්තිකුමාර මහතා පවසයි.

මන්නාරම ගෑස් ගවේෂණයට අදාළ ලංසු කැඳවීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය අගෝස්තු 25 වනදා වෙබ් අඩවිය හරහා ආරම්භ වූ අතර, එය ලබන වසරේ පෙබරවාරි මස මුල දක්වා විවෘතව පවතින බව ඔහු පැවසීය.

මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ කලාප හතරක් සඳහා ලංසු ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට ජාත්‍යන්තර සමාගම්වලට අවස්ථාව පවතින අතර, ඒ සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සියලුම තාක්ෂණික ලේඛන මේ වන විට සූදානම් කර ඇති බව ද කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

මෙම කලාපවල බහුලව පවතින්නේ ස්වභාවික වායූන් බවත්, ප්‍රමුඛ පෙළේ විදේශීය සමාගම් රැසක් මේ සඳහා දැනටමත් උනන්දුවක් දක්වන බවත් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් අනාවරණය කළේය.

ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ මූල්‍ය තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව අදහස් දක්වමින් නෙත්තිකුමාර මහතා කියා සිටියේ, මෙම වසරේ මේ දක්වා කාලය තුළ සංස්ථාව රුපියල් බිලියන 27ක ලාභයක් උපයා ඇති බවයි.

ඩීසල් වැනි ඉන්ධන සඳහා විශාල වශයෙන් සහනාධාර ලබාදීම හේතුවෙන් ලාභය යම් ප්‍රමාණයකින් අඩු වුවද, සමස්තයක් ලෙස සංස්ථාව ශක්තිමත් මූල්‍ය මට්ටමක පවතින බව ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය.

Natural Gas Exploration in Mannar to Commence Within Three to Five Years

The managing director of the Sri Lanka Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Mayura Neththikumara, has expressed optimism regarding the successful exploration and exploitation of natural gas in the Mannar Basin within the next three to five years.

The tender process for natural gas exploration in Mannar commenced on August 25 via an online portal, and it will remain open until early February of next year, according to Neththikumara.

International firms are being provided with the opportunity to submit bids for four designated blocks under this project, with all necessary technical documentation now prepared, he revealed.

These blocks are rich in natural gas, and several leading foreign companies have already shown interest in exploring these opportunities, he further disclosed.

Commenting on the financial status of the Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Neththikumara noted that the organization has recorded a profit of 27 billion Sri Lankan Rupees so far this year. Despite some reduction in profits due to significant subsidies provided for fuels like diesel, he emphasized that the organization remains in a robust financial position overall.
