වයඹ පළාතේ ග්‍රාමීය මාර්ග සංවර්ධනය සඳහා සිමෙන්ති ස්ථායීකරණ ක්‍රමය (Cement Stabilization) හඳුන්වාදී තිබේ.

බොරලු ඇතිරූ මාර්ග කඩිනමින් සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා පවත්නා ප්‍රතිපාදන ඌනතාවය හේතුවෙන් බොරලු ඇතිරීම වෙනුවට මෙම ක්‍රමවේදය අත්හදා බැලීම සිදුකෙරේ.

මෙහිදී මාර්ගයේ ඇති පස් ස්ථරය පරීක්ෂා කර ඒ සඳහා සීයට තුනේ සිට හය (3% - 6%) දක්වා ප්‍රමාණයක සිමෙන්ති මිශ්‍ර කර ඒකාකාරී ලෙස මාර්ගය පුරා පතුරුවා පස් සහ සිමෙන්ති හොඳින් මිශ්‍ර කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව නියමිත තෙතමනයකින් යුතුව සම්පීඩක යන්ත්‍ර භාවිතයෙන් මාර්ගය හොඳින් තළමින් ශක්තිමත් කර සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සිදුකෙරේ.

ඒ අනුව මෙහි පළමු අදියර කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් නියෝජ්‍ය ඇමැති නාමල් කරණාරත්නගේ සහ කුරුණෑගල දිස්ත්‍රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රිනි නීතීඥ ගීතා හේරත්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පොල්පිතිගම ඉරුදෙණියායේදී ආරම්භ කෙරිණි.

Cement Stabilization Technique Introduced for Rural Road Development in the North Western Province

A new method of cement stabilization has been introduced to enhance the development of rural roads in the North Western Province. This innovative approach aims to address the ongoing challenges in road repair, particularly in areas where the existing infrastructure has deteriorated significantly.

Instead of conventional pothole repairs, officials are testing the cement stabilization technique due to the inadequacies of current resources. This process involves assessing the subgrade of the road, then mixing a cement proportion of three to six percent (3% - 6%) into the existing materials. The mixture is spread uniformly across the road, followed by thorough compaction to create a strong, durable surface under optimal moisture conditions.

The initial phase of this project was launched in Polpitigama, Irudeniyaya, with the participation of Agriculture and Livestock Resources Minister Namal Karunarathna and Kuruunegala District Parliament member Attorney-at-Law Geetha Herath. This marks a significant step forward in the bid to improve road conditions for local communities.
