වැලි කියුබ් එකකින් රුපියල් 500 බැගින් කොමිස් ඉල්ලූ මන්ත‍්‍රීට එරෙහිව පොලිසියට පැමිණිලි කරයි..

 ආරච්චිකට්ටුව ප්‍රදේශයේ කුඹුරු යායක තැන්පත් වී තිබූ වැලි ඉවත් කිරීමේ කටයුතුවල නිරත වූ කොන්ත්‍රාත්කරුවෙකුගෙන්, ඉවත් කරන සෑම වැලි කියුබ් එකක් සඳහාම රුපියල් 500 බැගින් කප්පම් මුදල් ඉල්ලා සිටි බව කියන ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකු සම්බන්ධයෙන් ආරච්චිකට්ටුව පොලිසිය විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර තිබේ.

'දිට්වා' සුළි කුණාටු තත්ත්වයත් සමඟ ආනවිලුන්දාව සහ සූරුවිල ප්‍රදේශවල වැව් බැමි කැඩී යාමෙන් කුඹුරු යායවල් මත වැලි තට්ටු තැන්පත් වී තිබුණි.

මෙම වැලි ඉවත් කිරීම සඳහා අදාළ කොන්ත්‍රාත්කරු ආරච්චිකට්ටුව ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයෙන් සහ සූරුවිල ගොවි සමිතියෙන් නිසි අවසරය ලබාගෙන තිබූ බව පොලිසිය පවසයි.

පැමිණිලිකරු සඳහන් කරන්නේ, තමන් කුඹුරු යායේ ගොඩගැසී ඇති වැලි ඉවත් කරමින් සිටියදී එම ස්ථානයට පැමිණි ආරච්චිකට්ටුව ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ස්වාධීන මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකු, ඉවත් කරන සෑම වැලි කියුබ් එකක් සඳහාම රුපියල් 500 බැගින් තමන්ට ලබා දිය යුතු බවට බලපෑම් කළ බවයි.

මෙම කප්පම් ඉල්ලීමට එරෙහිව අදාළ කොන්ත්‍රාත්කරු විසින් ඉකුත් 02 වනදා සවස ආරච්චිකට්ටුව පොලිස් ස්ථානයට පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇත.

ඒ අනුව, අදාළ මන්ත්‍රීවරයා සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර ගැනීම සඳහා පුළුල් පරීක්ෂණයක් ක්‍රියාත්මක බව පොලිසිය වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Arrest Inquiry Launched Against Local Councillor for Alleged Extortion

The Araccikattuwa police have initiated an investigation into an incident involving a local councillor who is accused of demanding a bribe of 500 Sri Lankan Rupees for each cubic meter of sand removed by a contractor working on a sand extraction project in the area.

The issue arose as adverse weather conditions, notably the 'Ditwa' cyclone, caused flooding in the Anavilundawa and Sooruwila regions, leading to the deposition of sand on paddy fields.

Authorities have clarified that the contractor had obtained the necessary approvals for the sand removal from the Araccikattuwa divisional secretary's office and the Sooruwila agricultural society.

Allegedly, while the contractor was engaged in the removal of sand from paddy fields, an independent councillor from the Araccikattuwa local council pressured him to provide 500 Rupees for each cubic meter extracted.

In response to this extortion demand, the contractor lodged a formal complaint at the Araccikattuwa police station on the evening of the 2nd of the month.

Following the complaint, the police have confirmed that an extensive investigation is underway to determine the appropriate legal actions against the councillor involved.
