කොළඹ නාගරික ප්රජාවගේ මතුපිට උද්ධමනය 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ද පෙර මාසයේ පරිද්දෙන්ම සියයට 8.0 ක නොවෙනස් මට්ටමක පැවති බව ජනලේඛන හා සංඛ්යාලේඛන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව (30) නිකුත් කළ නවතම වාර්තාවේ සඳහන් වේ.
සමස්ත උද්ධමනය නොවෙනස්ව පැවතුණද, ආහාර කාණ්ඩයේ ලක්ෂ්යමය උද්ධමනය 2026 අගෝස්තු මාසයේ වාර්තා වූ සියයට 8.5 සිට සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී සියයට 8.7 දක්වා සුළු වශයෙන් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇත.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, ආහාර නොවන කාණ්ඩයේ ලක්ෂ්යමය උද්ධමනය අගෝස්තු මාසයේ පැවති සියයට 7.7 ක අගයේම ස්ථාවරව පැවති බව එම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පෙන්වා දෙයි.
ආපනශාලා සහ හෝටල් අංශයේ උද්ධමනය සියයට 11.5 ක් දක්වාද, නිවාස, ජලය, විදුලිය සහ ගෑස් අංශයේ උද්ධමනය සියයට 5.5 ක් දක්වාද, සෞඛ්ය අංශයේ උද්ධමනය සියයට 4.0 ක් දක්වාද සුළු වශයෙන් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති අතර, ප්රවාහන (16.3%) සහ අධ්යාපන (6.2%) යන අංශවල උද්ධමනය පෙර මාසයට සාපේක්ෂව මඳක් පහත වැටී ඇති බව ජනලේඛන හා සංඛ්යාලේඛන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කරයි.
Colombo's Inflation Rate Remains Steady at 8.0% in September 2026
The Colombo urban community experienced an inflation rate of 8.0% in September 2026, maintaining the same level observed in the previous month, according to the latest report from the Department of Census and Statistics.
While the overall inflation rate remained unchanged, the targeted inflation for food items saw a slight increase, rising from 8.5% in August to 8.7% in September.
In contrast, the targeted inflation for non-food items was stable, holding steady at 7.7%, as indicated by the department.
Furthermore, inflation in the restaurant and hotel sector reached 11.5%, while the housing, water, electricity, and gas sectors reported an inflation rate of 5.5%. The health sector also saw a minor increase to 4.0%. However, the transportation and education sectors experienced slight declines in inflation, recorded at 16.3% and 6.2%, respectively, compared to the previous month.
