වරකාපොළ පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්යාංශයේ බුද්ධි නිලධාරීන්ට ලද රහසිගත තොරතුරකට අනුව අලව්ව, නම්බැවිල ප්රදේශයේ පිහිටි අදාළ මන්ත්රීවරයාගේ නිවස වැටලූ අවස්ථාවේදී එහි සඟවා තිබූ මෙම කසිප්පු තොගය සොයා ගැනීමට හැකි වී තිබේ.
පොලිස් වැටලීම සිදු කරන අවස්ථාවේදී ප්රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්රීවරයා නිවසේ රැඳී සිට නොමැත.
මෙලෙස අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත්තේ අලව්ව, නම්බැවිල ප්රදේශයේ පදිංචි 49 හැවිරිදි විවාහක එක්දරු පියෙකි.
එම නිවසේ තබා ගන්නා නීතිවිරෝධී මත්පැන්, ත්රිරෝද රථ සහ යතුරුපැදි යොදා ගනිමින් අලව්ව, නම්බැවිල ඇතුළු අවට ප්රදේශවලට තොග වශයෙන් ප්රවාහනය කර බෙදාහැරීමේ ජාවාරමක් සිදු කර ඇති බව පොලිස් පරීක්ෂණවලදී අනාවරණය වී ඇත.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු සහ නඩු භාණ්ඩ වරකාපොළ මහේස්ත්රාත් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර, වරකාපොළ පොලිසිය මේ පිළිබඳව වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන මෙහෙයවයි.
Local Politician's Relative Arrested with 90 Bottles of Illegal Liquor
In a significant operation, police from the Warakapola area apprehended a relative of a local council member affiliated with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) for possessing 90 bottles of illegal liquor, which were reportedly hidden in the politician's residence.
Based on intelligence received by the special unit of the Warakapola Police, officers executed a raid on the house located in the Alawwa, Nambawila area. During the operation, they uncovered the concealed stash of arrack.
At the time of the raid, the local council member was not present at the premises. The individual taken into custody is a 49-year-old married man residing in Alawwa, Nambawila.
Investigations revealed that the illegal alcohol was intended for distribution in bulk using three-wheelers and motorcycles, suggesting a larger smuggling operation targeting the surrounding areas.
The suspect and the seized items will be presented before the Warakapola Magistrate's Court, while further inquiries are ongoing by the Warakapola Police.
