අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය මහත්මිය ඝාතනය කිරීමේ සැලසුමක් පවතින බවට සඳහන් කරමින් සමාජ මාධ්‍ය ඔස්සේ අසත්‍ය තොරතුරු ප්‍රචාරය කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් පුළුල් විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර ඇති බව පොලිස් මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට දැනුම් දුන්නේය.

පොලිස් මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරි කමල් ආරියවංශ මහතා විසින් කරන ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව මෙම විමර්ශනය ආරම්භ කළ බව එම කාර්යාංශයේ පරිගණක අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශයේ ප්‍රධාන පොලිස් පරීක්ෂක මිලින්ද ද සිල්වා මහතා කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අසංග බෝදරගම මහතා හමුවේ කරුණු දක්වමින් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු පැහැදිලි කළ පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් සඳහන් කළේ,  Facebook හරහා "Breaking හරිනි ඝාතන සැලසුමක්" යන තේමාව යටතේ ද්වේෂසහගත ලෙස සහ රාජ්‍ය නොසන්සුන්තාවක් ඇති කිරීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම අසත්‍ය ප්‍රචාරය සිදුකර ඇති බවයි.

අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරිය ආණ්ඩුවෙන් ඉවත්වීමට තීරණය කිරීමත් සමඟ ඇයට වස දී ඝාතනය කිරීමේ කුමන්ත්‍රණයක් පවතින බව පවසමින් මෙම ව්‍යාජ තොරතුරු සමාජගත කර ඇති බව ද විමර්ශන නිලධාරීහු අධිකරණයට පෙන්වා දුන්හ.

ඉදිරිපත් වූ කරුණු සලකා බැලූ ප්‍රධාන මහේස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, මෙම සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකරන විමර්ශනවල ප්‍රගතිය කඩිනමින් අධිකරණයට වාර්තා කරන ලෙස මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශයට නියෝග කළේය.

Investigations Launched Over Plot to Assassinate Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya

The Central Crime Investigations Division (CCID) has initiated a comprehensive inquiry into the dissemination of false information related to a purported assassination plot against Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya. This announcement was made at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kamal Ariyawansha, Director of the CCID, attributed the commencement of this investigation to a formal complaint he filed. The details were shared by Police Inspector Milinda de Silva from the CCID's Cyber Crime Investigation Unit during proceedings before Chief Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama.

During the court session, police officials clarified that a campaign titled "Breaking: Harini Assassination Plot" had been propagated via Facebook with malicious intent, aimed at inciting public hatred and unrest.

Investigators also revealed that this misinformation surfaced soon after the Prime Minister announced her decision to resign from the government, suggesting that it was part of a scheme to undermine her safety.

In light of the gravity of the situation, the Chief Magistrate instructed the CCID to promptly report on the progress of the investigations related to this matter.
