අද උදෑසන හිටපු නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයාව මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාලය වෙත කැඳවා තිබූ අතර, එහිදී ඔහුගෙන් ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කරගැනීමට නියමිතය.

වාර්තා වන පරිදි, ශිරාන් බාසික්ට අයත් බව කියන හෝටලයක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් පවතින තොරතුරු සහ ඒ හා සබැඳි ගනුදෙනු පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ප්‍රශ්න කිරීම් සිදු කර ඇත.

මෙම සිද්ධියට අදාළව සිදු කෙරෙන පුළුල් විමර්ශනවල තවත් පියවරක් ලෙස, දෙහිවල ගල්කිස්ස මහ නගර සභාවේ හිටපු නගරාධිපති ධනසිරි අමරතුංග මහතාගෙන් ද පෙරේදා (02) දිනයේදී අපරාධ විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන් ප්‍රශ්න කර ප්‍රකාශයක් සටහන් කර ගැනීමට පියවර ගෙන තිබුණි.

සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසය වැඩිදුර පරීක්ෂණ පවත්වාගෙන යනු ලබයි.

Former Deputy Minister Arundika Paranawithana Interrogated by Central Criminal Investigation Department

In a significant development regarding drug trafficking, former Deputy Minister Arundika Paranawithana has been summoned for questioning by the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) today, based on information disclosed by an alleged drug trafficker, Shiran Basik.

Paranawithana was called to the CCID office this morning, where officials are expected to take his statement as part of the ongoing investigation.

Reports indicate that the questioning primarily revolves around a hotel reportedly linked to Basik, as well as related transactions and activities that may have ties to drug trafficking.

This inquiry represents the latest step in an extensive investigation, which had previously seen former Mayor of Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, Dhansiri Amarathunga, also interrogated by criminal investigation officers on February 2. His statement was recorded as part of the inquiry into this matter.

The Central Criminal Investigation Department is continuing its probe into the case, shedding light on the serious implications of the allegations and the network involved.
