Parliament Secretariats to Prepare Report on Protests Against Speaker

The Parliament Secretariat is set to compile a structured report and technical recommendations in light of the recent protests targeting the Speaker of Parliament, as detailed by the BBC News Service.

Chameera Gallage, the Speaker's private secretary, clarified the situation to the BBC, revealing that the Speaker has requested the Secretariat to prepare a report regarding the matter.

He noted that no report has yet been submitted, and emphasized that the Speaker has not made any final decisions on the issue so far.

All forthcoming actions will rely on the technical guidance and recommendations provided by the Secretariat, according to Gallage's statements.

In response to an inquiry from the BBC, Kusumani Rohandheera, the Parliament Secretary General, confirmed that they are currently focused on addressing the Speaker's request.

She added that a thorough examination of the matter is necessary, and once the related points are analyzed, the recommendations from the Secretariat will be forwarded to the Speaker in due course.
