අතුරු කමිටුව පිලි නොගනී.. ෂක්‍ක්‍ කාන්තා ලෝක කුසලාන සත්කාරකත්වයෙන් ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාව ඉවත් කරයි.. එය ඉන්දියාවට..

 ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් පරිවර්තන කමිටුව සත්කාරකත්වය රැක ගැනීමට දැඩි උත්සාහයක නිරත වුවද, 2027 වසරේ පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත සමාරම්භක කාන්තා චැම්පියන්ස් ට්‍රොෆි ක්‍රිකට් තරගාවලියේ සත්කාරකත්වය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට අහිමි වී ඇති බවත්, එහි නව සත්කාරකයා ලෙස ඉන්දියාව නම් කිරීමට ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රිකට් කවුන්සිලය (ICC) පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවත් 'ඩේලි මිරර්' පුවත්පත වාර්තා කරයි.

කණ්ඩායම් හයකගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වෙන මෙම සුවිශේෂී තරගාවලිය 2027 පෙබරවාරි 14 සිට 28 දක්වා මුම්බායි සහ වඩෝදරා යන නගරවලදී පැවැත්වීමට ICC විධායක මණ්ඩලය ඊයේ (01) නිල වශයෙන් අනුමැතිය ලබා දී තිබේ.

මුලින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතව තිබූ මෙම තරගාවලිය ඉන්දියාවට පැවරීමට ICCය තීරණය කර ඇත්තේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයේ නිලවරණය මෙතෙක් පවත්වා නොමැති වීම සහ ජාත්‍යන්තර ක්‍රිකට් කවුන්සිලයේ මාර්ගෝපදේශවලට පටහැනිව රජය විසින් පත් කරන ලද පරිවර්තන කමිටුවක් යටතේ ආයතනය පාලනය වීම හේතුවෙනි. බංග්ලාදේශය, ඉන්දියාව සහ දකුණු අප්‍රිකාව යන රටවල් කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව ICCය විසින් ඉන්දියාව සත්කාරකයා ලෙස තෝරාගෙන ඇත.

'ඩේලි මිරර්' පුවත්පතට අනාවරණය වූ තොරතුරු අනුව, මීට මාස දෙකකට පෙර පැවති රැස්වීමකදී ICCය විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් පරිවර්තන කමිටුවේ ලේකම් ප්‍රකාශ් ෂාෆ්ටර් මහතාට දැනුම් දී ඇත්තේ දේශපාලන ඇඟිලි ගැසීම් නතර කර වහාම නිලවරණයක් නොපවත්වන්නේ නම් සත්කාරකත්වය අහිමි වන බවයි.

ෂාෆ්ටර් මහතා විසින් මෙම කරුණ අතුරු පාලක මණ්ඩලයට දැනුම් දී තිබුණද, ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යාංශය හෝ ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා මේ පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කර ඇත්තේ මෑතකදී බව වාර්තා වේ.

සත්කාරකත්වය අහිමි වීම නිසා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ලැබීමට තිබූ ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 20ක (රුපියල් කෝටි 600කට අධික) ආදායමක් අහිමි වන අතර, සංචාරක ව්‍යාපාරයට සහ ජාත්‍යන්තර ප්‍රසිද්ධියට ද මෙයින් විශාල බලපෑමක් එල්ල වේ. මීට පෙර 2023 වසරේදී ද මෙවැනිම දේශපාලන මැදිහත්වීම් හේතුවෙන් 2024 වයස අවුරුදු 19න් පහළ පිරිමි ලෝක කුසලාන සත්කාරකත්වය ද ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට අහිමි වූ අතර එය දකුණු අප්‍රිකාවට පවරනු ලැබීය.

ICC සභාපති ජේ ෂා මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේ මෙම සමාරම්භක තරගාවලිය කාන්තා ක්‍රිකට් ක්‍රීඩාවේ නව පරිච්ඡේදයක් සනිටුහන් කරනු ඇති බවයි. ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාව, එංගලන්තය, ඉන්දියාව, නවසීලන්තය, දකුණු අප්‍රිකාව සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මෙම තරගාවලියට සුදුසුකම් ලබා ඇති අතර, සත්කාරකත්වය අහිමි වුවද ශ්‍රී ලංකා කණ්ඩායමේ සහභාගීත්වයට එය බාධාවක් නොවන බව ICCය තහවුරු කර ඇත.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනය සඳහා නව ව්‍යවස්ථාවක් කෙටුම්පත් කර ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යවරයා වෙත භාර දී ඇති අතර, එය පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට පෙර අවශ්‍ය නීතිමය ක්‍රියාවලීන් සම්පූර්ණ කළ යුතුව ඇත. එතෙක් ශ්‍රී ලංකා ක්‍රිකට් ආයතනයට ICC විධායක මණ්ඩල රැස්වීම්වලදී පූර්ණ නියෝජනයක් ලබා ගැනීමට ද නොහැකි වනු ඇත.

Sri Lanka Loses Hosting Rights for 2027 Women's Champions Trophy to India

Despite the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee's efforts to retain its hosting rights, the country has officially lost the opportunity to host the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy cricket tournament scheduled for 2027, with India named as the new host by the International Cricket Council (ICC), reports the Daily Mirror.

This prestigious tournament, featuring six teams, will take place from February 14 to 28, 2027, across the cities of Mumbai and Vadodara, following formal approval from the ICC Executive Board yesterday.

Initially slated to be held in Sri Lanka, the ICC's decision to transfer hosting rights to India stems from a lack of official governance within Sri Lanka Cricket and the organization’s management under a Transformation Committee appointed by the government, which is in violation of ICC guidelines. Following evaluations involving Bangladesh, India, and South Africa, the ICC ultimately selected India as the host nation.

According to disclosures made to the Daily Mirror, the ICC had previously warned Prakash Shafter, the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee, during a meeting two months ago that failing to resolve political interference and conduct the elections promptly would result in losing the hosting rights.

Although Shafter informed the interim management committee about this warning, it appears that neither the Ministry of Sports nor President Anura Kumara Dissanayake have been made aware of these developments recently.

The loss of hosting rights is expected to result in Sri Lanka missing out on an estimated revenue of $20 million (over 600 million rupees), significantly impacting both the tourism sector and the nation's international reputation. Earlier this year, similar political interference led to Sri Lanka losing hosting rights for the Under-19 Men's World Cup in 2024, which was subsequently awarded to South Africa.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah stated that the Women’s Champions Trophy will signify a new chapter in women’s cricket. Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have qualified for this tournament, and despite losing hosting rights, the ICC has confirmed that Sri Lanka's participation will remain unaffected.

A new constitution has been drafted for Sri Lanka Cricket and handed over to the Minister of Sports, pending completion of the necessary legal processes before presentation to Parliament. Until these formalities are completed, Sri Lanka Cricket will be unable to secure full representation at ICC Executive Board meetings.
