මිතුරි පෙති හිගය උග‍්‍රයි.. කාන්තාවන් අසීරුවේ..

 රට තුළ භාවිත වන උපත් පාලන පෙති වර්ගවල දැඩි හිඟයක් හටගෙන ඇතැයි චෝදනා ඒල්ල වේ.

ජාතික ඖෂධ නියාමන අධිකාරිය මඟින් උපත් පාලන පෙති සඳහා පනවා ඇති උපරිම සිල්ලර මිල ගණන් යටතේ අදාළ ඖෂධ මෙරටට ආනයනය කිරීමට නොහැකි බව සැපයුම්කරුවන් දැනුම් දී තිබේ.

ඒ හේතුවෙන් නව තොග ඇණවුම් නොලැබී යාම මෙම හිඟය මතුවීමට ප්‍රධාන හේතුව වී ඇත.

රාජ්‍ය මෙන්ම පෞද්ගලික අංශය හරහා බෙදාහරිනු ලබන උපත් පාලන පෙති මෙලෙස හිඟවීම හේතුවෙන් මෙරට කාන්තාවන් දැඩි අපහසුතාවට පත්ව සිටින බවද වාර්තා වේ.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පවුල් සංවිධාන සංගමයේ උසස් නිලධාරියකුගෙන් කළ විමසීමකදී ඔහු සඳහන් කර ඇත්තේ, මිල සම්බන්ධයෙන් මතුවූ ගැටලුවක් හේතුවෙන් මෙම තත්ත්වය හටගෙන ඇති බවයි.

කෙසේවෙතත්, ජාතික ඖෂධ නියාමන අධිකාරිය සමඟ මේ පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව බංග්ලාදේශයෙන් අදාළ පෙති වර්ග ආනයනය කිරීමට මේ වන විට අවසර හිමිව ඇති බව හෙතෙම ප්‍රකාශ කර ඇත.

ඒ අනුව, ඉදිරි සති දෙකක කාලය ඇතුළත ‘මිතුරි’ උපත් පාලන පෙති ඇතුළු ඊට අදාළ අනෙකුත් ආදේශක ඖෂධ මෙරටට ගෙන්වීමට නියමිත බවද එම නිලධාරියා වැඩිදුරටත් පවසා තිබේ.

Severe Shortage of Contraceptives Reported in Sri Lanka

Concerns are growing over a critical shortage of contraceptives currently experienced across the country. Suppliers have indicated that they are unable to import required contraceptives due to the maximum retail price imposed by the National Medicines Regulatory Authority.

This backdrop has led to a halt in new orders, which is identified as a primary cause for the ongoing shortage. Reports suggest that women throughout Sri Lanka, depending on both public and private sector supplies, are facing significant challenges as a result of this deficiency.

An official from the Sri Lanka Family Planning Association revealed that issues related to pricing have contributed to the current situation. However, they also noted that discussions with the National Medicines Regulatory Authority have yielded positive results, with permission recently granted to import the necessary contraceptive types from Bangladesh.

According to the official, shipments of "Mithuri" contraceptives, along with other related substitute medications, are expected to arrive in the country within the next two weeks.
