 ශ්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය විනාශ කරමින්, ඒකාධිපති පාලනයක් කරා ගමන් කිරීමට රජය දරන උත්සාහය සහ දේශපාලන පළිගැනීම් සම්බන්ධයෙන් ලබන සතියේදී ජිනීවා මානව හිමිකම් කොමිසම වෙත නිල වශයෙන් පැමිණිලි කරන බව 'බහුජන බලය' සංවිධානයේ මිලින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පවසයි.

කොළඹදී පැවැති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදී අදහස් දක්වමින් ඔහු කියා සිටියේ, මෙතෙක් ආරක්ෂා කරගෙන ආ දේශපාලන ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය සහ ව්‍යවස්ථාපිත ආයතන පද්ධතිය වත්මන් රජය විසින් ක්‍රමානුකූලව විනාශ කරමින් පවතින බවයි. මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය හමුවට ගොස් ජනතාව දැනුවත් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති අතර, එහි මීළඟ පියවර ලෙස ජාත්‍යන්තරයේ අවධානය යොමු කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන බව ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

ලබන සඳුදා ආරම්භ වන ජිනීවා මානව හිමිකම් කොමිසමේ මීළඟ සැසිවාරයට සමගාමීව, අඟහරුවාදා දිනයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වත්මන් තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබී ඇති බව මිලින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පැවසීය.

එහිදී ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය විනාශ කර ඒකාධිපති බලයක් ගොඩනැගීමට දැරෙන උත්සාහය, අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වයට එල්ල වන බලපෑම්, ජනතා විරෝධී ලෙස ව්‍යවස්ථාව වෙනස් කිරීමට දරන උත්සාහයන්, විපක්ෂය ඉලක්ක කරගනිමින් සිදුකරන දේශපාලන පළිගැනීම් ආදී කරුණු කිහිපයක් කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කරන බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

එයාර් බස් ගනුදෙනුවට අදාළව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීම දේශපාලන පළිගැනීමක ප්‍රතිඵලයක් බව මිලින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය.

රජය විසින් විපක්ෂයේ දේශපාලන නායකයන් මර්දනය කිරීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන බවත්, නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතාට පමණක් නොව සජිත් ප්‍රේමදාස සහ දිලිත් ජයවීර යන මහත්වරුන්ට ද මෙවැනිම අසාධාරණ බලපෑම් එල්ල වන බවත් ඔහු පැවසීය.

වත්මන් රජය විසින් දූෂණ විරෝධී පනතට ගෙන ඒමට උත්සාහ කරන සංශෝධන පිළිබඳව ද ඔහු දැඩි විවේචනයක් එල්ල කළේය.

රජයේ ඇමතිවරුන් සහ නිලධාරීන්ගේ වත්කම් බැරකම් ප්‍රකාශ පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමට ජනතාවට තිබූ අයිතිය මෙම සංශෝධන හරහා අහුරා ඇති බවත්, එය දූෂණයට මග පාදන ක්‍රියාවක් බවත් ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

ස්ටාලින්ගේ පාලන සමයේ හෝ උතුරු කොරියාවේ පවතින ආකාරයේ ඒකාධිපති නීති පද්ධතියක් ලංකාව තුළ ස්ථාපිත කිරීමට රජය උත්සාහ කරන බවත්, ඊට එරෙහිව ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදය අගය කරන සියලු දෙනා වෙනුවෙන් ජිනීවාහිදී හඬ නගන බවත් මිලින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

Opposition Group to Bring Human Rights Violations to UN's Attention Amidst Sri Lanka's Emerging Autocracy

Milinda Rajapaksha, a key figure from the People's Power organization, has revealed that the group plans to lodge formal complaints with the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva next week, highlighting the government's attempt to dismantle democracy and establish autocratic rule in Sri Lanka.

Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo, Rajapaksha expressed concern over the systematic destruction of the political democratic framework and institutional systems that have until now been preserved. He noted that steps are being taken to inform the public through the Supreme Court while also pushing to draw international attention to these developments.

As the next session of the UN Human Rights Commission commences on Monday, Rajapaksha confirmed that an opportunity will arise on Tuesday to present facts regarding the current situation in Sri Lanka.

His focus will primarily be on the attempts to eradicate democracy and consolidate autocratic power, the pressures exerted on judicial independence, and political grievances aimed at the opposition. He intends to draw attention to these issues along with efforts to alter the constitution in a way that contradicts public interest.

In a notable instance of political retribution, Rajapaksha pointed to the arrest of Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksha related to an airline deal, framing this as a consequence of the government’s targeted actions against political opponents.

He asserted that there is an ongoing strategy to suppress political leaders of the opposition, affecting not just Namal Rajapaksha, but also prominent figures such as Sajith Premadasa and Dilith Jayaweera.

Rajapaksha strongly criticized the government’s proposed amendments to anti-corruption legislation, suggesting these changes undermine the public's right to know about the assets of ministers and officials, which he described as facilitating corruption.

He further warned that the government is attempting to implement an autocratic legal system akin to that of Stalin's regime or the current system in North Korea. During the upcoming Geneva session, Rajapaksha pledged to raise his voice on behalf of all who value democracy against this alarming trend.
