 පවතින ආර්ථික පසුබිම හමුවේ විදුලි ගාස්තු සහ ඉන්ධන මිල ගණන් ඉහළ දැමීමට සිදුවන තත්ත්වයක් පැවතියද, ජනතාව මුහුණ දෙන ආර්ථික දුෂ්කරතා සැලකිල්ලට ගෙන රජය එම ක්ෂේත්‍ර සඳහා දිගින් දිගටම සහනාධාර ලබාදීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බව අමාත්‍ය බිමල් රත්නායක මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

ස්වර්ණවාහිනී නාලිකාවේ ‘රතු ඉර’ දේශපාලන වැඩසටහනට එක්වෙමින් අමාත්‍යවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය.

එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ අමාත්‍යවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, ඩීසල් ලීටරයක් සඳහා රජය මේ වන විටත් රුපියල් 100ක සහනාධාරයක් ලබාදෙන බවයි. සහන මිලට ලබා දුන්න ද ජනතාවගේ ආර්ථික අපහසුතා හේතුවෙන් එම මිල පවා ජනතාවට බරක් වී ඇති බව පිළිගන්නා බව පැවසූ ඔහු, වැඩි වීමට තිබූ විදුලි ගාස්තුවලට බදු සහනයක් ලබාදෙමින් සමස්ත පාරිභෝගිකයන්ගෙන් සියයට 96කගේම විදුලි බිල වැඩි නොවීමට රජය වගබලා ගත් බව ද සඳහන් කළේය.

සැප්තැම්බර් 30 වැනිදායින් පසු ඉදිරි මාස තුනක කාලය සඳහා ද ඉන්ධන සහනාධාරය අඛණ්ඩව ලබාදීමට අවශ්‍ය රුපියල් මිලියන 17,000ක (රුපියල් බිලියන 17ක) මුදලක් පසුගියදා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවෙන් සම්මත කරගත් බව ද හෙතෙම පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

රජය මහජන බදු මුදල් යොදවන්නේ මෙවැනි සහන සැලසීම සඳහා බව පෙන්වා දුන් අමාත්‍යවරයා, ජනතාව පීඩාවට පත් කරමින් අධ්‍යාපනය හා සෞඛ්‍යය කප්පාදු කර ආර්ථිකය ගොඩනැගීමට තම රජය කටයුතු නොකරන බව අවධාරණය කළේය.

තවද, වතු කම්කරුවන්ගේ වැටුප වෙනුවෙන් රජයේ ප්‍රතිපාදන මඟින් දිනකට රුපියල් 200ක මුදලක් ගෙවීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවත්, විදේශගත ශ්‍රමිකයන් සඳහා සහන පොලී යටතේ නිවාස ඉදිකර ගැනීමට රුපියල් කෝටියක ණය මුදලක් ලබාදීමේ වැඩපිළිවෙළක් ආරම්භ කර ඇති බවත් ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය.

හිටපු ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා රට දෙස බැලුවේ සමාගමක් ලෙස සහ තමන් එහි ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරියා ලෙස බවට විවේචනය කළ බිමල් රත්නායක මහතා, වත්මන් පාලනය මෙරට ධනවත්ම පුද්ගලයාගේ සිට කිලිනොච්චියේ සිටින අන්ත අසරණ දුප්පත්ම පුරවැසියා දක්වා සමස්ත ජනතාවම ආවරණය වන පරිදි කිසිවෙකු අත්නොහරින ප්‍රතිපත්තියක් මත පාලන කටයුතු මෙහෙයවන බව වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

Government Implements Relief Measures Amid Economic Challenges

As the country grapples with a challenging economic backdrop characterized by rising electricity tariffs and fuel prices, measures are being taken to provide ongoing assistance in these sectors, according to Minister Bimal Ratnayake. He stated that the government recognizes the economic hardships faced by the public and is committed to offering support.

Minister Ratnayake made these remarks during an appearance on the political program "Red Sun" on Swarnavahini.

During the discussion, he highlighted that the government currently subsidizes diesel by Rs. 100 per liter, acknowledging that even at these subsidized rates, the burden of costs remains heavy for citizens. He assured that the government has intervened to prevent a significant increase in electric bills for 96% of consumers by offering tax relief on upcoming electricity tariff hikes.

Furthermore, he revealed that Parliament recently approved Rs. 17 billion (Rs. 17,000 million) to sustain fuel subsidies for an uninterrupted three-month period starting from September 30.

Emphasizing the government's responsible use of public tax revenue for such relief measures, Ratnayake underscored that they are committed to rejuvenating the economy without imposing additional pressures on sectors like education and healthcare.

Additionally, Ratnayake mentioned that in support of tea workers, the government has initiated a program to provide daily payments of Rs. 200. Plans are also underway to allocate Rs. 1 billion in loans for constructing housing under a relief allowance for foreign workers.

Reflecting on the past, he criticized former President Ranil Wickremesinghe for viewing the country purely as a corporate entity and pointed out that the current administration aims to implement policies that encompass the interests of all citizens—from the wealthiest individuals to those living in extreme poverty in places like Kilinochchi.
