බැටරි විදුලිය අද සිට විදුලි පද්ධතියේ..

 අනුරාධපුරයේ ඉදිකරන ලද මෙගාවොට් 10/ මෙගාවොට් පැය 40 බැටරි බලශක්ති ගබඩා පද්ධතිය, ජාතික විදුලිබල පද්ධතියට එක් කිරීම ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අද (18) පෙරවරුවේ සිදු විය.

මෙරට පුනර්ජනනීය බලශක්ති ධාරිතාව සහ විදුලි පද්ධතියේ ස්ථාවරත්වය ඉහළ නැංවීමේ අරමුණින් ස්ටෝර්එක්ස් (Storex) පුද්ගලික සමාගමේ දායකත්වයෙන් මෙම බලශක්ති ගබඩා පද්ධතිය ස්ථාපනය කර තිබේ. 

බලශක්ති ගබඩා කිරීමේ බැටරි පද්ධති තාක්ෂණය වත්මන් බලශක්ති ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ ඇති සුවිශේෂම සහ වඩාත් කාර්යක්ෂම තාක්ෂණය වේ. දිවා කාලයේ නිපදවන අතිරික්ත සූර්ය බලය ගබඩාකර රාත්‍රී කාලයේ විදුලි ඉල්ලුම වැඩි අවස්ථාවට ජාතික පද්ධතියට මුදා හැරීම මෙම තාක්ෂණයේ විශේෂත්වයයි.

ජාතික විදුලිබල ජාලයේ ස්ථායීතාවය වර්ධනය කරමින්, බලශක්ති ගබඩා කිරීමේ පද්ධති 13ක් මෙගාවොට් 130ක සහ මෙගාවොට් පැය 520ක ධාරිතාවකින් යුතුව ජාතික විදුලි බල පද්ධතියට එක් කිරීම 

ස්ටෝර්එක්ස් (Storex) පුද්ගලික සමාගමේ සමස්ත ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ සිදු කෙරෙන අතර ඉන් පළමු බලශක්ති ගබඩා පද්ධතිය මෙලෙස අනුරාධපුරයේදී ජාතික විදුලි බල පද්ධතියට එක් කෙරිණි. ඉතිරි ව්‍යාපෘතිද ඉදිරි මාස දෙක, තුන තුළ නිම කරමින් ජාතික විදුලිබල පද්ධතියට එක් කිරීමට නියමිත බව මෙහිදී සඳහන් කෙරිණි. 

සමරු ඵලකය නිරාවරණය කර බලශක්ති ගබඩා පද්ධතිය ජාතික විදුලි බල පද්ධතියට සම්බන්ධ කිරීමේ අවස්ථාවට එක් වූ ජනාධිපතිවරයා බැටරි ගබඩා පද්ධතිය පිහිටි පරිශ්‍රය නිරීක්ෂණය කිරීමට එක් විය.

ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ තම්මැන්නාපුර විද්‍යාලයේ ඉගෙනුම ලබන සිසුන්ගේ ප්‍රයෝජනය සඳහා මුද්‍රණ යන්ත්‍රයක් ලබා දීම සහ එහි සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ ගණිතය සහ විද්‍යාව හරාදණ සිසුන් වෙනුවෙන් ශිෂ්‍යත්ව 10ක් පිළිගැන්වීමද මෙහිදී ජනාධිපතිවරයා අතින් සංකේතාත්මකව සිදු කෙරිණි.

මෙම උත්සව සභාව ඇමතූ වරාය හා සිවිල් ගුවන් සේවා සහ බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අරුණ කරුණාතිලක මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ මෙම අවස්ථාව වැඩි වශයෙන් සුනිත්‍ය බලය උපයෝගී කර ගනිමින්, පවිත්‍ර විදුලිබල ජනනය සහ අඩු ජනන පිරිවැයක් තුළින් සාධාරණ මිලකට ජනතාවට විදුලිය ලබා දීම මෙන්ම කාර්යක්ෂම, විශ්වාසදායක සහ අඛණ්ඩ විදුලිබල සැපයුමක් සහතික කිරීමේ රජයේ අරමුණු යථාවත් කෙරෙන අවස්ථාවක් බවයි. 

මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ වරාය හා සිවිල් ගුවන් සේවා සහ බලශක්ති අමාත්‍ය අනුර කරුණාතිලක මහතා,

අපි දන්නවා ලෝකයේ බලශක්ති ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ විවිධ යුගවල, විවිධ අවස්ථාවන්වල හැරවුම් ලක්ෂ සමඟ ඉදිරියට ගමන් කර ඊළඟ අවධියට පැමිණ තිබෙනවා. ලංකාවේ බලශක්ති ක්ෂේත්‍රය, විශේෂයෙන් විදුලි බල ක්ෂේත්‍රය ගත්විට අද කිසියම් පරිවර්තනීය වෙනසක් සිදු වන අවස්ථාවක්. වත්මන් රජයට වසර දෙකක් සම්පූර්ණ වන මෙම අවස්ථාවේ මෙරට විදුලි බල ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ ඇති කරන මෙම පරිවර්තනීය වෙනස ඉතා වැදගත් කියා අපි විශ්වාස කරනවා. 

අපි දන්නවා දැනටමත් මෙගාවොට් 3,000කට ආසන්න ප්‍රමාණයක් අපි දිවා කාලයේ සූර්ය බලයෙන් ජනනය කරනවා. දිවා කාලයේ සාමාන්‍යයෙන් මෙගාවොට් 2,800ක පමණ විදුලිබල අවශ්‍යතාවයක් තමයි තිබෙන්නේ. එහෙත් රාත්‍රී කාලයේදී අපිට මෙගාවොට් 3,100ක් වගේ ප්‍රමාණයක අවශ්‍යතාවයක් තිබෙනවා. එල්නිනෝ තත්ත්වයත් එක්ක සමහර විට ලබන පෙබරවාරි මාසය වන විට එම ඉල්ලුම වඩා වැඩි වෙයි කියා පුරෝකථනය කර තිබෙනවා.

අපිට තිබෙන ප්‍රශ්නය තමයි මේ දවල් කාලයේදී අතිරික්තව ජනනය කරන සූර්ය බලය ගබඩා කිරීමේ හැකියාවක් මේ දක්වා නොතිබීම. එම ගැටලුව මගහරවා ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් අපි මේ වන විට මෙගාවොට් 160ක ව්‍යාපෘති ක්‍රියාත්මක කරමින් තිබෙනවා. WINDFORCE ආයතනය එතනින් මෙගාවොට් 130ක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් වගකීම දරමින් කටයුතු කරනවා. අපි විශ්වාස කරනවා මේ වසර අවසන් වීමට පෙර මේ මෙගාවොට් 160ම ජාතික පද්ධතියට එකතු කරගන්න පුළුවන්කම ලැබෙයි කියලා.

ඒ වගේම තවත් මෙගාවොට් 400ක, 250ක් සහ 150ක් ආදී වශයෙන් මේ ආකාරයේම බැටරි ගබඩා කරන ලංසු කැඳවීම් කටයුතු අපි දැනටමත් ආරම්භ කර තිබෙනවා. සමහර ඒවා ඇගයීම් අවස්ථාවේ තිබෙන්නේ. අපි විශ්වාස කරනවා 2027 අවසන් වීමට පෙර, බොහෝ වෙලාවට පළවෙනි මාස 6 ඇතුළත එම ව්‍යාපෘති අපේ පද්ධතියට එකතු කරගන්න පුළුවන්කම ලැබෙයි කියලා. 

මේ තුළින් එක් පැත්තකින් සුනිත්‍ය බලය වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක් මගින් ජාතික පද්ධතියට එකතු කර ගැනීමේ හැකියාව, ඒ වගේම රාත්‍රී කාලයේදී විශාල වශයෙන් පොසිල ඉන්ධන මගින් විදුලියය ජනනය කිරීමේදී දැරීමට සිදුවන අධික පිරිවැය අඩු කරගැනීම අපිට හැකියාව ලැබෙනවා.

වැඩි වශයෙන් සුනිත්‍ය බලය උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් පවිත්‍ර විදුලි ජනනය සහ අඩු ජනන පිරිවැයකින් සාධාරණ මිලකට ජනතාවට විදුලිය ලබා දීම මෙන්ම කාර්යක්ෂම, විශ්වාසදායක සහ අඛණ්ඩ විදුලි සැපයුමක් සහතික කිරීමේ අප රජයේ සැලසුම් යථාවත් කර ගැනීමට මෙමගින් අවස්ථාව ලැබෙනවා. ඒ අනුව මෙම කාර්ය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට දායකත්වය ලබා දුන් සියලු දෙනා වෙත මගේ ස්තූතිය පිරිනමනවා. 

කුමාර ජයකොඩි, මහාචාර්ය සේන නානායක්කාර, භාග්‍ය ශ්‍රී හේරත් යන පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරු සහ පළාත් පාලන නියෝජිතයින්ද. බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ලේකම් ජනාධිපති ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ අතිරේක ලේකම් රසල් අපොන්සු, අනුරාධපුර දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් රංජිත් විමලසූරිය යන මහත්වරු සහ බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශයේ සහ සුනිත්‍ය බලශක්ති අධිකාරියේ නිලධාරීන් ඇතුළු රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ද, විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයේ අනුප්‍රාප්තික සමාගම්හි සභාපතිවරුන් සහ ප්‍රධාන නිලධාරීන්ද, මංජුල පෙරේරා - කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ - WindForce PLC සහ එහි සාමාජිකයින් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.

President Unveils 10 MW Battery Energy Storage System in Anuradhapura

The 10 megawatt (MW) battery energy storage system in Anuradhapura was officially integrated into the national power grid this morning, led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. This initiative aims to enhance the renewable energy capacity and stability of the country’s electricity network.

The installation of this energy storage system was made possible with the support of Storex, a private company specializing in energy solutions. This advanced battery technology represents one of the most efficient methodologies in the modern energy sector, particularly by storing excess solar power generated during the day for use during peak demand periods at night.

With the introduction of these battery systems, the national grid now benefits from a total capacity of 130 MW and 520 MWh, thereby improving the grid's reliability. This current installation marks the first phase of a broader project undertaken by Storex, with additional systems expected to be connected within the next two to three months.

During the unveiling, the President also toured the facility housing the battery storage system, highlighting its significance in strengthening the national electricity grid. Under this initiative, a printing machine was donated to the Tammannapura University for the benefit of its students, alongside ten scholarships awarded to students studying Ordinary Level Mathematics and Science.

Addressing the event, Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation, and Energy, Aruna Karunathilaka, noted that this milestone demonstrates the government’s commitment to harnessing renewable energy, ensuring a sustainable supply of electricity at fair prices, while also maintaining reliable and uninterrupted service.

Elaborating further, Minister Karunathilaka expressed optimism about the transformative shift occurring within the electricity sector, coinciding with the government's second anniversary in office. He emphasized that the ongoing changes in energy production and management aim to position Sri Lanka as a significant player in the global energy landscape.

Currently, Sri Lanka produces approximately 3,000 MW of solar power during daylight hours, while the average electricity demand is around 2,800 MW. However, the nighttime demand can rise up to 3,100 MW, and experts anticipate that conditions like the El Niño phenomenon may further increase demand in February. The minister acknowledged that the lack of capacity to store daytime solar power has been a challenge, which this new initiative aims to address.

To mitigate this issue, ongoing projects totaling 160 MW of battery storage are underway, with WINDFORCE responsible for 130 MW of that capacity. Minister Karunathilaka expressed confidence that these systems will be integrated into the national grid by year-end.

Plans for additional battery storage initiatives amounting to 400 MW, 250 MW, and 150 MW are already underway, with some projects currently in their evaluation stages. The government envisions having most of these projects operational by mid-2027, thereby achieving a more significant integration of renewable energy into the national grid and effectively reducing reliance on fossil fuels for nighttime electricity generation.

Through increased utilization of renewable energy, this undertaking is expected to provide sustainable electricity generation at reduced costs, aligning with the government’s commitment to ensure a fair price for consumers and a reliable energy supply.

Among those present at the unveiling were Members of Parliament including Kumara Jayakody, Professor Sena Nanayakkara, and Bhagyashri Herath, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, the Sustainable Energy Authority, leaders of subsidiary companies, and representatives from the private sector, including Manjula Pereira, Managing Director of WindForce PLC.
