පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා ඇතුළු තවත් කිහිපදෙනෙකු ද වත්මන් කථානායකවරයාට එරෙහිව මේ වන විටත් පැමිණිලි ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බව ද හෙතෙම මෙහිදී සිහිපත් කළේය.

Medical Expert Calls for Inquiry into Allegations Against Current Speaker of Parliament

Today, Dr. Chamila Sanjeewa, a prominent medical expert, submitted a formal complaint to the commission investigating allegations of corruption and bribery, urging for a thorough inquiry and appropriate disciplinary actions against the current Speaker of Parliament. This step follows rising concerns regarding the conduct of parliamentary leaders since the government's inception.

Speaking to the media after filing the complaint, Dr. Sanjeewa emphasized that there appears to be a troubling pattern concerning Speakers of Parliament in the current administration. He pointed out that Ashoka Ranawela, his predecessor, was previously compelled to resign after failing to present his degree certificate.

Dr. Sanjeewa noted that serious allegations have now surfaced against the current Speaker, particularly regarding the misuse of items from the official Speaker’s residence for personal purposes, alongside other concerning issues.

He also highlighted that several complaints opposing the current Speaker have already been lodged by other individuals, including parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara.

In light of these developments, Dr. Sanjeewa urged the commission to expedite the examination of all allegations against the current Speaker, conduct a thorough investigation, and take necessary legal measures to impose appropriate penalties.
