ඉස්ලාම් දහමට අපහාසාත්මක ප්රකාශයක් සිදුකළ බවට එල්ල වී ඇති චෝදනාවකට අදාළ නඩුවක් සඳහා අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී නොසිටි බොදු බල සේනා සංවිධානයේ මහලේකම් පූජ්ය ගලගොඩඅත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙස කොළඹ මහාධිකරණය අද වරෙන්තු නිකුත් කළේය.
මෙම නඩුව කොළඹ මහාධිකරණ විනිසුරු බුද්ධික සී. රාගල මහතා ඉදිරියේ කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී විත්තිකාර ගලගොඩඅත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන් අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටියේ නැත.
එහිදී උන්වහන්සේ අසනීප තත්ත්වයෙන් පසුවන බව සඳහන් කරමින් වෛද්ය වාර්තාවක් අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කෙරුණු නමුත්, විත්තිකාර හිමියන්ගේ ඇපකරුවන් කිසිවකුත් අධිකරණය හමුවේ පෙනී නොසිටි බව වාර්තා වේ.
ඥානසාර හිමියන් වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටි නීතිඥ අසෝක වීරසූරිය මහතා අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු දක්වමින් කියා සිටියේ, මෙම නඩුකරය කෙටියෙන් අවසන් කර ගැනීමට තම සේවාදායක හිමියන් අපේක්ෂා කරන බවත්, ඒ සම්බන්ධයෙන් නීතිපතිවරයා වෙත කරුණු දක්වමින් නියෝජන ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බවත්ය.
කෙසේ වෙතත්, ඉදිරිපත් වූ කරුණු සලකා බැලූ මහාධිකරණ විනිසුරුවරයා, විත්තිකාර හිමියන් වෙනුවෙන් ඉදිරිපත් කළ වෛද්ය වාර්තාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණයට සෑහීමකට පත්විය නොහැකි බව ප්රකාශ කළේය.
එමෙන්ම උන්වහන්සේගේ ඇපකරුවන්ද අධිකරණය මඟහැර සිටීම හේතුවෙන්, ඥානසාර හිමියන් වහාම අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙස දන්වා වරෙන්තු නිකුත් කිරීමට විනිසුරුවරයා නියෝග කළේය.
Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Buddhist Leader Over Controversial Remarks on Islam
The Colombo High Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Secretary of the Buddhist Power Force organization, Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero, in connection with allegations of making derogatory statements about Islam. The court ordered his apprehension and presentation before the judiciary today.
During the hearing presided over by Judge B. C. Ragala, it was noted that Gnanasara Thero was not present in court. He had submitted a medical report citing health issues as the reason for his absence; however, no bail guarantors appeared on his behalf either.
Attorney Ashoka Weerasuriya, representing Gnanasara Thero, informed the court that his client hopes to resolve the case swiftly and that a representation had been made to the Attorney General regarding this matter.
Despite these submissions, the presiding judge expressed dissatisfaction with the medical report presented on behalf of the defendant. Consequently, citing the absence of his guarantors, the judge mandated that Gnanasara Thero be immediately taken into custody and brought before the court.
