 ක්‍රීඩා අමා­ත්‍යාං­ශ­යට අවශ්‍ය බස් රථ ආන­ය­නය කරන මුවා­වෙන් රුපි­යල් කෝටි ගණ­නක් වටිනා තීරු­බදු කපා හැර ආන­ය­නය කරන ලද සුඛෝ­ප­භෝගී බස් රථ දෙකක් හිටපු ජනා­ධි­පති මහින්ද රාජ­ප­ක්ෂගේ බිරිය වන ශිරන්ති රාජ­පක්ෂ යටතේ පව­ත්වා­ගෙන යන කාල්ටන් පෙර පාස­ලට දීමෙන් සිදු කරන ලද දූෂණ හා මූල්‍ය අක්‍ර­මි­කතා සම්බ­න්ධ­යෙන් අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ විම­ර්ශන කොමි­ෂන් සභාව සහ අප­රාධ පරී­ක්ෂණ දෙපා­ර්ත­මේ­න්තුව ඒකා­බද්ධ විම­ර්ශ­න­යක් ආරම්භ කර තිබේ.

මෙතෙක් කරන ලද විම­ර්ශන මඟින් අනා­ව­ර­ණය වූ කරුණු අනුව අප­රාධ චෝදනා ගොනු කිරී­මට ප්‍රමා­ණ­වත් කරුණු ඇති බවට නීති­පති දෙපා­ර්ත­මේ­න්තුව දුන් උප­දෙස් අනුව පොලිස් මූල්‍ය විම­ර්ශන ඒක­කය මඟින්ද මේ අක්‍ර­මි­කතා සම්බ­න්ධ­යෙන් විධි­මත් විම­ර්ශ­න­යක් ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

එසේම සිරි­ලිය පද­නම හෙවත් සිරි­ලිය සවිය ජනා­ධි­පති කාර්යා­ලය යටතේ පව­තින කාන්තා සංවි­ධා­න­යක් බවට ඒත්තු ගන්වා මේ මූල්‍ය අක්‍ර­මි­ක­තාව සිදු කර ඇති බැවින් හිටපු ජනා­ධි­පති ලේක­ම්ව­ර­යකු වන ලලිත් වීර­තුංග හා ජනා­ධි­පති ලේකම් කාර්යා­ලයේ අති­රේක ලේක­ම්ව­ර­යකු ලෙස කට­යුතු කළ පුද්ග­ල­යකු සම්බ­න්ධ­යෙන්ද එම­ඟින් විම­ර්ශ­නය කර­මින් පවතී.

මේ අතර මහින්ද රාජ­පක්ෂ ජනා­ධි­පති ධුරය දැරූ සම­යේදී ජාතික ඉති­රි­කි­රීමේ බැංකු­වෙන් දුන් රුපි­යල් ලක්ෂ සීයක මුද­ලක් සිරි­ලිය පද­නම මඟින් අව­භා­විත කිරී­මක් සම්බ­න්ධ­යෙන්ද මූල්‍ය විම­ර්ශන ඒක­කය මඟින් වෙනම පරී­ක්ෂ­ණ­යක් ආරම්භ කර තිබේ. 

සිරි­ලිය පද­නම විසින් කොළඹ රිජ්වේ ආර්යා ළමා රෝහ­ලට සී.ටී ස්කෑනර් යන්ත්‍ර­යක් පරි­ත්‍යාග කිරී­මට අවශ්‍ය බව පෙන්වා දෙමින් ඉදි­රි­පත් වූ ලිපි­යක් අනුව විධි­මත් අයු­රින් කරුණු සොයා­බැ­ලී­ම­කින් තොරව එව­කට ජාතික ඉති­රි­කි­රීමේ බැංකුවේ සභා­ප­ති­ව­රයා විසින් දෙන ලද වාචික උප­දෙස් අනුව එකී මුදල සිරි­ලිය පද­න­මට පරි­ත්‍යාග කොට ඇති බවත් එකී මුද­ලින් මිල දී ගත් බව අඟවා හිටපු ජනා­ධි­පති මහින්ද රාජ­ප­ක්ෂගේ පුත්‍ර­ය­කුගේ උප­න්දි­නය නිමි­ත්තෙන් එම සී.ටී. ස්කෑනර් යන්ත්‍රය රෝහ­ලට පරි­ත්‍යාග කොට ඇති බවත් අනා­ව­ර­ණය වී තිබේ.

කෙසේ වෙතත් සැබැ­වින්ම එම ස්කෑනර් යන්ත්‍රය ලැබී ඇත්තේ චීන රජය විසින් ලංකා රජ­යට දුන් ආපසු ගෙවිය යුතු බැඳු­ම්කර ණය මුද­ලක් උප­යෝගි කර­ගෙන වන බැවින් ඒ සම්බ­න්ධ­යෙන්ද නීති­ප­ති­ව­රයා උප­දෙස් දී ඇති අතර, සිරි­ලිය පද­නමේ සභා­පති ශිරන්ති රාජ­පක්ෂ ඇතුළු අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩ­ලය මෙන්ම ජාතික ඉති­රි­කි­රීමේ බැංකුවේ සභා­ප­ති­ව­රයා ලෙස කට­යුතු කළ ප්‍රදීප් කාරි­ය­ව­සම් ඇතුළු වග­කිව යුත්ත­න්ගෙන් ප්‍රකාශ ගෙන විම­ර්ශන පවත්වා අධි­ක­ර­ණ­යට කරුණු වාර්තා කිරී­මට මූල්‍ය විම­ර්ශන ඒක­කය පිය­වර ගනි­මින් සිටියි.

Investigations Launched into Corruption and Financial Irregularities Linked to Former First Lady

The Sri Lankan Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and the Criminal Investigations Department have initiated a joint inquiry into significant financial irregularities concerning the procurement of luxury buses by the Ministry of Sports. The procurement, involving substantial monetary value, was conducted under the purview of Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and directed towards the Carlton Pre-School.

Initial findings from the inquiry have indicated that there is sufficient evidence to press criminal charges, as advised by the Attorney General's Department. Consequently, the Police Financial Investigations Division is undertaking formal investigations regarding these irregularities.

Additionally, it has come to light that the Siriliya Foundation, an organization linked to the presidential office, has been implicated in the financial misconduct. Investigations are also focused on Lalith Weeratunga, the former secretary to the president, and another individual who served as deputy secretary at the Presidential Secretariat.

During Mahinda Rajapaksa's presidency, allegations of misappropriation involving a substantial sum of Rs. 600,000 from the National Savings Bank through the Siriliya Foundation have surfaced. The Police Financial Investigations Division is conducting a separate investigation into these claims.

Documents obtained indicate that the Siriliya Foundation had requested the donation of a CT scanner for the Colombo Children's Hospital without a proper resolution process.Testimonies reveal that under verbal instructions from the then-chairman of the National Savings Bank, funds were allocated to the Siriliya Foundation, which later purchased the equipment as a donation on the occasion of the former President's son's birthday.

However, concerns have arisen as the CT scanner was reportedly purchased using funds linked to a loan from the Chinese government that was to be repaid by the Sri Lankan government. The Attorney General has provided further instructions regarding these matters. The investigation is expected to gather statements from Shiranthi Rajapaksa, board members of the Siriliya Foundation, and Pradeep Kariyawasam, who served as chairman of the National Savings Bank, to report findings for prosecution.

Statements collected from former chairman Kariyawasam and others have been submitted to the Attorney General's Department. A team of officials, including Senior Solicitor General Dilip Peiris, is currently reviewing these statements to determine subsequent legal proceedings.
