ජාත්‍යන්තර වෙළෙඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් ඉහළ යාම හමුවේ මෙරට ක්‍රියාත්මක පෞද්ගලික ඉන්ධන සමාගම් දැවැන්ත මූල්‍ය අලාභයකට මුහුණ දී ඇති බවත්, ඒ හේතුවෙන් පැන නැගී ඇති තත්ත්වය කළමනාකරණය කරගැනීම සඳහා අදාළ සමාගම් රජයේ සහාය ඉල්ලා ඇති බවත් ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව ප්‍රකාශ කරයි.

කොළඹදී පැවති විශේෂ මාධ්‍ය හමුවක් අමතමින් ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ සභාපති ජනක රාජකරුණා මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, වත්මන් සිල්ලර මිල යටතේ ඉන්ධන අලෙවි කිරීම හේතුවෙන් පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් එක් එක් ඉන්ධන ලීටරයකින් ලබන අලාභය පිළිබඳව සංඛ්‍යාලේඛන සහිතව කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බවයි.

ඒ අනුව අදාළ සමාගම් වාර්තා කර ඇති පාඩු ප්‍රමාණයන් මෙසේය.

• RM Parks සමාගම: ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 173ක සහ පෙට්‍රල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 38.75ක පාඩුවක්
• Sinopec සමාගම: ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 192ක සහ පෙට්‍රල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 67ක පාඩුවක්
• LIOC සමාගම: ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 136ක සහ පෙට්‍රල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 57ක පාඩුවක්

පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් යනු ලාභය මුල් කරගත් ව්‍යාපාරික ආයතන බැවින්, අඛණ්ඩව මෙවැනි අලාභයක් දරමින් ඉන්ධන නිකුත් කිරීමේ හැකියාවක් ඔවුන්ට නොමැති බව පෙන්වා දුන් සභාපතිවරයා, ඒ හේතුවෙන් ඇතැම් පිරවුම්හල් වෙත ඉන්ධන සැපයීම සීමා කිරීමට එම සමාගම් පියවර ගෙන තිබූ බව ද පැහැදිලි කළේය.

මෙම අර්බුදකාරී වාතාවරණය හමුවේ පාරිභෝගික ජනතාව අපහසුතාවට පත්වීම වැළැක්වීම සඳහා විදුලිබල හා බලශක්ති අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ලේකම්වරයාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අදාළ සියලුම සමාගම් කැඳවා සාකච්ඡා පවත්වා ඇත. එහිදී හඳුනාගත් ප්‍රමුඛතා පිරවුම්හල් 52ක් වෙත අඛණ්ඩව ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීමට එකඟතාවකට පැමිණ තිබේ.

ලෝක වෙළෙඳපොළේ මිල ගණන් ඉහළ ගිය ද මෙරට පාරිභෝගිකයා කෙරෙහි බර නොපටවා සහනදායී ලෙස මිල පවත්වාගෙන යාමට රජය සහ සංස්ථාව පියවර ගත් බව සිහිපත් කළ සභාපතිවරයා, පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් ඉන්ධන නිකුත් කිරීම සීමා කළ ද ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව සතුව ප්‍රමාණවත් තරම් ඉන්ධන සංචිත පවතින බවත්, කිසිදු අයුරකින් රට තුළ ඉන්ධන හිඟයක් ඇතිවීමට ඉඩ නොතබන බවත් අවධාරණය කළේය. ඉදිරි සතිය තුළ වෙළෙඳපොළ තත්ත්වය නිරීක්ෂණය කරමින් රජය විසින් මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් සුදුසු තීරණයක් ගනු ඇති බව ද හෙතෙම වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේය.

Private Fuel Companies Facing Severe Financial Losses Amid Rising Global Oil Prices

The sharp increase in fuel prices on the international market has plunged private fuel companies in Sri Lanka into substantial financial losses. In light of this challenging situation, these companies are seeking government assistance to manage the emerging crisis, as noted by the Sri Lanka Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

At a special media briefing held in Colombo, Chairman Janaka Rajakaruna emphasized that private firms have presented detailed statistics outlining the losses incurred per litre of fuel sold under the current retail price structure.

The reported losses per litre for the relevant companies are as follows:

• RM Parks: Loss of Rs. 173 per litre for diesel and Rs. 38.75 per litre for petrol.
• Sinopec: Loss of Rs. 192 per litre for diesel and Rs. 67 per litre for petrol.
• LIOC: Loss of Rs. 136 per litre for diesel and Rs. 57 per litre for petrol.

Marking their nature as profit-driven entities, the Chairman highlighted that these companies could not sustain continuous operations amidst such losses. Consequently, some companies have taken the step to limit fuel supplies to certain filling stations.

In a bid to shield consumers from the adverse effects of this crisis, an urgent discussion convened under the leadership of the Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy brought together all relevant companies. They reached an agreement to ensure uninterrupted fuel distribution to 52 priority filling stations identified during the talks.

Rajakaruna recalled that despite rising prices on the global market, the government and regulatory authority had taken action to maintain consumer prices in a compassionate manner. He reassured that even though private companies have restricted fuel supplies, the Sri Lanka Petroleum Regulatory Authority possesses a sufficient fuel inventory, thereby eliminating any possibility of a fuel shortage in the country. He further stated that the government would make appropriate decisions after monitoring the market conditions in the coming week.
