හැටන් නගරයේ ත්රීරෝද රථ අලෙවි කරන ස්ථානයක එන්ජිමේ අංකය ව්යාජ ලෙස කොටා අලෙවි කිරිමට තිබූ ත්රීරෝද රථ තුනක් සහ එම වෙළදසැලේ හිමිකරු හැටන් කොට්ඨාශ දූෂණ මර්ධන ඒකකයේ නිළධාරින් විසින් (22) දින සැකපිට අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන සැකකරු හැටන් මහේස්ත්රාත් පීටර් පෝල් මහතා වෙත (22) දින ඉදිරිපත් කිරිමෙන් අනතුරුව සැකකරු (29) දින දක්වා රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාර ගත කිරිමට නියෝග කලහ.
සැකකරු හැටන් ප්රදේශයේම පුද්ගලයෙකුට රු.ලක්ෂ දෙකහාමාරක මුදලක් රැගෙන ඉතිරි මුදල පෞද්ගලික මූල්ය සමාගමක් හරහා ලබා ගැනීමේ ගිවිසුමක් අත්සන් කර ත්රීරෝද රථය මුදාහැර තිබියදී ත්රීරෝද රථය මිලදී ගත් අයට සැක සිති ත්රීරෝද රථය පරික්ෂා කිරිමේදි එහි එන්ජිමේ අංකය ව්යාජ ලෙස කොටා ඇති බවට තහවුරු වූ නිසා එම ත්රීරෝද රථය මිලදිගත් පුද්ගලයා විසින් එම ත්රීරෝද රථය නැවත රැගෙන ගොස් ඒ පිලිබදව ත්රීරෝද රථ අලෙවි කල පුද්ගලයාට භාර දීමේදි එය භාර ගැනීම ප්රතික්ෂේප කිරිම නිසා ත්රීරෝද රථය මිලදී ගත් පුද්ගලයා විසින් හැටන් පොලිස් කොට්ඨාශ දූෂණ මර්ධන ඒකකය වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් සිදු කර ඇත.
එම පැමිණිල්ල මත හැටන් කොට්ඨාශ දූෂණ මර්ධන ඒකකයේ නිළදාරින් සිදු කල විමර්ෂණයකින් අනතුරුව විසින් වෙළදසැලේ අලෙවි කිරිමට තිබූ එවැනිම ආකාරයේ ත්රීරෝද රථ දෙකක් සිය භාරයට ගෙන ඇති අතර, එම වෙළදසැල සහ සැකකරුගේ නිවස පරික්ෂා කිරිමේදි එන්ජින් අංකය ව්යාජ ලෙස කොට කොටස් කරන ලද ත්රී රෝද රථ එන්ජින් දෙකක් සහ තවත් ත්රී රෝද රථ කිහිපයක අංක තහඩු කිහිපයක්ද සොයා ගෙන ඇත.
දිවයිනේ විවිධ ප්ර දේශවලින් සොරකම් කරන ලද හෝ විවිධ අපරාධවලට යොදා ගත් ත්රී රෝද රථ සැකකරු රැගෙන විත් කැබලි කර පසුව වෙනත් ත්රී රෝද රථවල අමතර කොටස් යොදා එකලස් කර අලෙවි කළේ දැයි යන්න පිලිබදව විමර්ෂන සිදු කරනු ලබයි.
සැකකරු කාලයක් තිස්සේ හැටන් නගරයේ ත්රි රෝද අලෙවි කිරිමේ නියැලි සිට ඇති බවත්, අත්අඩංගුවට ගන්නා ලද ත්රි රෝද රථවල අංකය සහ සියලු විස්තර දිවයිනේ අනෙකුත් පොලිස් ස්ථාන වෙත යොමු කර වාර්ථාවක් ලබා ගන්නා බවත්, ත්රී රෝද රථවල එන්ජින් ව්යාජ ලෙස කොටා තිබිම සම්බන්ධයෙන් නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්රික් මෝටර් රථ පරික්ෂකවරයාට සහ රජයේ රස පරික්ෂකවරයා වෙත යොමු කර වාර්ථාවක් ලබා ගන්නා බවයි හැටන් කොට්ඨාශභාර ජේෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරි ප්රදීප් වීරසේකර මහතා කියා සිටියේ.
Three-Wheeler Dealer Arrested in Hatton for Selling Fraudulent Vehicles
In a significant operation, officials from the Anti-Corruption Unit in Hatton apprehended a dealer after discovering three three-wheelers being sold with counterfeit engine numbers at a local sales outlet on the 22nd. Following the arrest, the suspect was brought before Hatton Magistrate Peter Paul, who ordered that the accused be remanded until the 29th of this month.
The suspect allegedly signed an agreement to acquire a three-wheeler while obtaining a loan of two hundred thousand rupees from an individual in the region. Concern arose when the buyer inspected the vehicle and found the engine number had been tampered with. Consequently, the buyer refused to accept the vehicle and reported the matter to the Hatton Anti-Corruption Unit.
Upon receiving the complaint, investigators conducted a thorough inquiry at the dealership, resulting in the seizure of two additional three-wheelers that were also suspected of being sold with fraudulent numbers. Further scrutiny at both the dealership and the suspect's residence led to the discovery of two engines with altered numbers and several license plates from other three-wheelers.
Authorities are now investigating the possibility that the suspect has been involved in selling three-wheelers stolen from various areas across the country or used in other criminal activities. The investigation will determine if the three-wheelers were assembled from stolen parts and sold under the guise of legitimate vehicles.
According to Senior Police Officer Pradeep Weerasekara from the Hatton division, the suspect has been engaged in three-wheeler sales in the area for a considerable time. Details related to the seized vehicles and their registration numbers have been forwarded to other police stations across the country for additional reporting. Moreover, inquiries are being made regarding the fraudulent nature of the engine numbers through the regional Motor Vehicle Examiner and the government analyst.
