 මහරගම අපේක්ෂා පිළිකා රෝහලේ පවතින පිළිකා නාශක ඖෂධ හිඟය පිළිබඳව අවධානය යොමු කරමින්, ඖෂධ සඳහා වෙන් කර ඇති ප්‍රතිපාදන උපරිම කාර්යක්ෂමතාවයෙන් යුතුව භාවිත කරන ලෙස රජයේ වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමය සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.

එම සංගමයේ ලේකම් වෛද්‍ය උදයබණ්ඩාර වරකාගොඩ මහතා ප්‍රකාශ කර ඇත්තේ, ඖෂධ හිඟයට පිළියම් ලෙස දේශීයව ඖෂධ මිලදී ගැනීම වෙනුවට වෛද්‍ය සැපයුම් අංශය හරහා ඖෂධ ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා ප්‍රසම්පාදන ක්‍රියාවලිය විධිමත් හා කඩිනම් කළ යුතු බවයි.

ඖෂධ භාවිතය බලාපොරොත්තු වූවාට වඩා ඉහළ යාම, ප්‍රසම්පාදන ප්‍රමාදයන්, ගුණාත්මකභාවය පිළිබඳ ගැටලු සහ තාක්ෂණික දෝෂ හඳුනාගෙන ඒවාට විසඳුම් සෙවිය යුතු බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙයි.

"නිදසුනක් ලෙස, ලේබල් කිරීමේ දෝෂ වැනි කරුණු නිසා ඖෂධ ආපසු හරවා යැවීමට සිදුවන අවස්ථා පවතිනවා. ප්‍රසම්පාදන ක්‍රියාවලියේ මෙවැනි විවිධ ගැටලු තිබෙනවා, අමාත්‍යාංශය ඒවා හඳුනාගෙන විසඳාගත යුතුයි," යනුවෙන් වෛද්‍ය වරකාගොඩ මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

වෛද්‍ය සැපයුම් අංශය, රාජ්‍ය ඖෂධ නීතිගත සංස්ථාව සහ ජාතික ඖෂධ නියාමන අධිකාරිය වැනි ආයතන රැසක් මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියට සම්බන්ධ බවත්, හදිසි මිලදී ගැනීම්වලදී එකම ඖෂධය සඳහා වැඩි පිරිවැයක් දැරීමට සිදුවන බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය. 

එබැවින් පවතින ප්‍රතිපාදන ඵලදායී ලෙස භාවිත කිරීමට නම් විධිමත් ප්‍රසම්පාදන ක්‍රියාවලියකට ප්‍රමුඛතාව දිය යුතු බව ඔහුගේ අදහසයි.

අවශ්‍ය අවස්ථාවලදී රෝහල් මට්ටමින් ඖෂධ මිලදී ගැනීමට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය චක්‍රලේඛ නිකුත් කර තිබුණද, එය ස්ථිර විසඳුමක් නොවන බව ද ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

Healthcare Union Urges Efficient Use of Drug Allocations Amid Shortages at Maharagama Hospital

The government medical officials' union has raised concerns about the pressing shortage of cancer treatment medications at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital, urging the Ministry of Health to utilize drug allocations with maximum efficiency.

Dr. Udayabandara Warakagoda, the union's secretary, emphasized the need for a systematic and expedited procurement process through the medical supplies division, advocating for local drug purchases to address the current shortfall.

He highlighted several challenges contributing to the drug shortages, including unexpectedly high usage rates, procurement delays, quality issues, and technical defects. Dr. Warakagoda emphasized the importance of finding solutions to these problems.

"For instance, instances of medication returns due to labeling errors pose significant issues. The procurement process is riddled with various challenges that the ministry needs to identify and address," he added.

He noted that multiple institutions, such as the Medical Supplies Division, the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation, and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, are involved in this procurement process. This complexity often results in increased costs for the same medication during emergency purchases.

Dr. Warakagoda stressed the necessity for a streamlined procurement process to ensure the effective use of existing allocations.

While the Ministry of Health has issued circulars allowing hospitals to purchase drugs directly when necessary, he cautioned that this is not a permanent solution to the ongoing crisis.
