තෙල් පෝලිමකට අශූචි ප‍්‍රහාරයක්..

 මාරවිල ප්‍රදේශයේ ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හලක පෝලිමේ රැඳී සිටි ජනතාව ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් ඊයේ දිනයේදී අසූචි ප්‍රහාරයක් එල්ල කර ඇති බව පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී අනාවරණය කළේය.

මෙරටට ඉන්ධන බෙදාහැරීම සඳහා පැමිණි විදේශීය සමාගම් ත්‍රිත්වය විසින් මෙරටට ගෙන්වන සහ බෙදාහරින පෙට්‍රල් සහ ඩීසල් ප්‍රමාණයන් විශාල වශයෙන් සීමා කර ඇති බව පෙන්වා දුන් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා, ඒ හේතුවෙන් දිවයින පුරා යළිත් දැවැන්ත ඉන්ධන පෝලිම් නිර්මාණය වෙමින් පවතින බව සඳහන් කළේය.

පිරවුම්හල් මඟින් ඇණවුම් කරන ඉන්ධන බවුසර් පහෙන් එකක් පමණක් ලබාදෙන තත්ත්වයට බෙදාහැරීම් කප්පාදු කර ඇති බව ද ඔහු පැවසීය.

වෙළෙඳපොළ තුළ තරගකාරීත්වයක් ඇති කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් මෙම සමාගම් මෙරටට ගෙන්වුව ද, ඔවුන් මේ වන විට තමන්ට රිසි සේ මිල ඉහළ දැමීමට අවස්ථාව ලබා නොදුනහොත් තෙල් බෙදාහැරීම නතර කරමින් මුරණ්ඩු ප්‍රතිපත්තියක නිරත වන බවට දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මහතා චෝදනා කළේය.

පසුගිය කාලයේ ඉන්ධන පෝලිම්වල මිනිසුන් මියගිය අඳුරු අතීතය සිහිපත් කළ ඒ මහතා, වත්මන් ආණ්ඩුව යටතේ ද යළි එවැනිම ඛේදනීය තත්ත්වයක් කරා රට තල්ලු වෙමින් පවතින බව පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

සිපෙට්කෝ සතුව ඇත්තේ සීමිත ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල් සංඛ්‍යාවක් බැවින් මෙම තත්ත්වය හමුවේ දැඩි පීඩාවට පත්වන්නේ සාමාන්‍ය ජනතාව බව අවධාරණය කළ මන්ත්‍රීවරයා, අදාළ සමාගම් සමඟ ඇති ගිවිසුම් ප්‍රකාරව වහා මැදිහත් වී මෙම බෙදාහැරීම් කටයුතු විධිමත් කරන ලෙස රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.

ඒ සඳහා පාර්ලිමේන්තුව හරහා යම් යෝජනාවක් හෝ නීතිමය පියවරක් ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය නම් ඊට සහයෝගය ලබාදීමට විපක්ෂය සූදානම් බව ද ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

Fuel Shortages Trigger Emergency Situations Across the Nation

Yesterday, Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara revealed in a parliamentary session that an alarming incident occurred at a filling station in the Marawila area, where people gathered were targeted in a violent confrontation over fuel shortages.

Jayasekara pointed out that foreign companies involved in the distribution of fuel in Sri Lanka have drastically limited the amounts of petrol and diesel being imported and distributed. He emphasized that this has resulted in massive lines at filling stations across the island, mirroring a troubling repeat of the fuel crises experienced previously.

The situation has deteriorated to the extent that filling stations are only receiving a fraction of their orders, providing only one fuel voucher instead of the usual supply, he disclosed.

Despite these companies initially committing to foster competitiveness in the market, they are now accused of halting fuel distribution as a desperate strategy to increase prices, should their desired profit margins not be met.

Recalling the dark history of fatalities at filling stations during past crises, Jayasekara warned that the current government is allowing the nation to slide back into similar grievous conditions.

With a limited number of filling stations managed by Sri Lanka's Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), he highlighted that the general public is bearing the brunt of this crisis. Jayasekara called on the government to urgently intervene and streamline distribution processes with the involved companies.

He further expressed that if parliamentary initiatives or legal measures are necessary to address this issue effectively, the opposition is prepared to offer their support.
