ශ්‍රී ලංකන් ගුවන් සමාගමට අදාළ මතභේදාත්මක ‘එයාර්බස්’ ගනුදෙනුවේදී සිදුවූ බව කියන අල්ලස් සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා හෙට (29) දින ස්ථිර ත්‍රිපුද්ගල මහාධිකරණ විනිසුරු මඩුල්ල හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කරන තෙක් අත්අඩංගුවේ රඳවා තබා ගැනීමට කොළඹ ප්‍රධාන මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අසංග එස්. බෝදරගම මහතා අද (28) නියෝග කළේය.

මෙම සිද්ධියට අදාළව නීතිපතිවරයා විසින් සැකකාර මන්ත්‍රීවරයාට එරෙහිව ස්ථිර ත්‍රිපුද්ගල මහාධිකරණය හමුවේ මේ වන විටත් අධිචෝදනා ගොනු කර ඇති බැවින්, සැකකරු හෙට දිනයේ එම මහාධිකරණ විනිසුරු මඩුල්ල හමුවට ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙසද මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා නියෝග කළේය.

අදාළ නියෝගය ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරමින් ප්‍රධාන මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, මෙම සිදුවීමට අදාළ නඩුව ස්ථිර ත්‍රිපුද්ගල මහාධිකරණය හමුවේ අධිචෝදනා ගොනු කර පවරා ඇති පසුබිමක, සැකකරු සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඇප ලබාදීම හෝ රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කිරීම පිළිබඳ කිසිදු නියෝගයක් නිකුත් කිරීමට මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට නීතිමය බලයක් නොමැති බවයි.

එමෙන්ම, සැකකරු ඇප මත මුදාහැරීම සාධාරණීකරණය කළ හැකි කිසිදු සුවිශේෂී කරුණක් අධිකරණය හමුවේ ඉදිරිපත් වී නොමැති බැවින් ඔහුට ඇප ලබාදිය නොහැකි බවද මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා සඳහන් කළේය.

ඒ අනුව, නඩුව ස්ථිර ත්‍රිපුද්ගල මහාධිකරණය හමුවේ පවතින බැවින් මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයට නියෝග නිකුත් කිරීමේ හැකියාවක් නොමැති බව අවධාරණය කළ මහෙස්ත්‍රාත්වරයා, සැකකාර මන්ත්‍රීවරයාව අත්අඩංගුවේ තබාගෙන හෙට (29) දිනයේ ත්‍රිපුද්ගල මහාධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙස නියෝග කළේය.

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa Remains in Custody Amid Airbus Scandal Probes

The ongoing investigation into alleged corruption linked to the controversial Airbus deal involving Sri Lankan Airlines has led to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa being remanded until he appears before the Permanent High Court at Bar tomorrow, September 29. This directive was issued today by Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.

In connection with this case, the Attorney General has already filed indictments against the accused member of parliament at the Permanent High Court. The magistrate also mandated Rajapaksa to present himself before the High Court judges tomorrow.

While announcing the ruling, the Chief Magistrate pointed out that, given the backdrop of the case having been referred to the High Court with indictments, there is no legal authority for the magistrate's court to grant bail or order further detention concerning the defendant.

Furthermore, the magistrate emphasized that there were no compelling reasons presented before the court to justify the granting of bail to the accused, making it impossible to release him on bail at this stage.

Thus, the Chief Magistrate underscored the limitations of the magistrate's court in issuing any orders due to the ongoing legal proceedings at the Permanent High Court, confirming that Rajapaksa would remain in custody until his appearance tomorrow.
