This initiative comes as part of an extensive inquiry triggered by allegations regarding long-standing fraudulent activities within the department.

Operated with the intervention of the Panadura Anti-Corruption Task Force, the special operation aims to meticulously uncover specified fraudulent operations and irregularities believed to be occurring within the departmental operational system.

To facilitate this data collection and analysis, a team of experts from various fields is actively involved in the process. The group comprises prominent academics from the University of Colombo's School of Computing (UCSC), senior officials from the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT), technical engineers from Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), and IT specialists from GovTech Sri Lanka, all working under stringent technological supervision.

The investigation focuses on sensitive digital data contained in the server systems of the Motor Transport Department, including vehicle registrations, ownership transfers, fee collections, and chassis numbers, which are now being meticulously copied for further examination.
