අනුරාධපුර රැලියේ කතාව ගැන ප‍්‍රකාශ මේ මොහොතේ අවශ්‍ය නෑ..- පොලිසිය විමල්ට දන්වයි...

හිටපු අමාත්‍ය විමල් වීරවංශ මහතාගෙන් ප්‍රකාශයක් ලබා ගැනීම මේ මොහොතේ අවශ්‍ය නොවන බවත්, අවශ්‍ය වුවහොත් ඒ පිළිබඳ පසුව දැනුම් දෙන බවත් මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය විසින් ඔහු වෙත දැනුම් දී තිබේ.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණ විසින් අනුරාධපුරයේදී පවත්වන ලද රැස්වීමකදී අධිකරණයට අපහාස වන ආකාරයේ ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදුකළ බවට හිටපු අමාත්‍යවරයාට එරෙහිව චෝදනා එල්ල වී ඇත.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් නීතිපතිවරයා අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු වාර්තා කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව, අධිකරණය විසින් පොලිස්පතිවරයාට නිකුත් කළ නියෝගයකට අනුව මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය විමර්ශනයක් ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.

එම විමර්ශනයට අදාළව ප්‍රකාශයක් සටහන් කරගැනීම සඳහා හිටපු අමාත්‍යවරයාට ඊයේ පෙරවරුවේ අදාළ කාර්යාංශය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙස මීට පෙර දැනුම් දී තිබිණි.

කෙසේවෙතත්, තමන්ට එම කාර්යාංශය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටීම සඳහා ලබන සඳුදා දින දක්වා කාලය ලබා දෙන ලෙස විමල් වීරවංශ මහතා 02 දින පෙරවරු 10.00ට පමණ ඉල්ලීමක් කර ඇත.

එම ඉල්ලීමට ප්‍රතිචාර දක්වමින් මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය දැනුම් දී ඇත්තේ, පවතින විමර්ශන කටයුතුවලට අදාළව මේ මොහොතේ ප්‍රකාශයක් සටහන් කරගැනීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවක් නොමැති බවත්, ඉදිරියේදී එවැනි අවශ්‍යතාවක් මතු වුවහොත් ඒ බව දැනුම් දීමට පියවර ගන්නා බවත්ය.

No Immediate Requirement for Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa's Testimony, CID Confirms

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has informed former Minister Wimal Weerawansa that at this moment, there is no need to obtain a statement from him. Should the situation change, they will provide further notice.

Weerawansa faces allegations related to offensive remarks made about the judiciary during a meeting held by the Sri Lanka People's Front in Anuradhapura.

Following a report filed by the Attorney General before the court, the CID commenced an investigation based on an order issued to the Inspector General of Police.

As part of the investigation, Weerawansa had previously been requested to appear before the relevant authorities yesterday morning to record a statement.

However, the former minister has now requested an extension until next Monday, suggesting a meeting around 10:00 AM, to comply with the investigation process.

In response to his request, the CID clarified that there is currently no necessity to record a statement related to the ongoing investigations. They assured that if such a need arises in the future, they would take the necessary steps to inform him.
