නාවලපිටිය තලවකැලේ බව්වාගම ප්‍රදේශයේ නාවලපිටිය නගර සභාවේ සභාපති අමල් ප්‍රියංකර (ස්වාධීන) මහතාගේ නිවස ඉදිරිපිට පාර හරහා මාරු වූ අයකු නාවලපිටිය නගරය දෙසට පැමිණෙන trail වර්ගයේ යතුරුපැදියක ගැටී අනතුරක් සිදුවී ඇති බවට පොලිස් හදිසි 119 ඇමතුමට ලැබුණු පැමිණිල්ලක් මත විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කර ඇති බව නාවලපිටිය පොලිසිය පවසයි.
අනතුර සිදුවී ස්වල්ප මොහොතකින් දෙපාර්ශවය අතර බහින් බස්වීමක් ඇතිවී යතුරුපැදි සහ පසුපැදිකරු නාවලපිටිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහලටත්, අනතුරට ලක් වූ පුද්ගලයා මහනුවර පිහිටි පෞද්ගලික ආරෝග්‍ය ශාලාවකටත් ප්‍රතිකාර සඳහා ඇතුළත් කර ඇත.
මෙසේ අනතුරට ලක්ව ඇත්තේ නාවලපිටිය නගර සභාවේ සභාපති අමල් ප්‍රියංකර මහතාගේ හිතවතෙකු වන අතර, නාවලපිටිය ඉඹුල්පිටියේ වතුයායේ සහකාර වතු අධිකාරිවරයෙකු යතුරුපැදිය පදවා ඇති බවයි නාවලපිටිය පොලිසිය කියා සිටියේ.
මේ පිළිබඳ අප නාවලපිටිය නගර සභාවේ සභාපතිවරයාගෙන් සිදුකළ විමසීමකදී ඔහු කියා සිටියේ,
තමාගේ ව්‍යාපාරික හිතවතෙකු ගලබොඩ ප්‍රදේශයේ ඔහුගේ වියදමින් සාදන ලද කෝවිලක කටයුතු නිරීක්‍ෂණය සඳහා කොළඹ ප්‍රදේශයේ සිට පැමිණ තමාට අයත් හෝටලයක නතර වී සිට කොළඹ බලා පිටත් වීමට පෙර තම පුත්‍රයා සමග ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි තම නිවසට පැමිණෙන අවස්ථාවේදී පාර හරහා මාරුවීමේදී අදාල අනතුර සිදුවූ බවයි.
අනතුරෙන් පසු එම හිතවතා තම නිවසටත් යතුරුපැදියේ පැමිණි දෙදෙනා මාර්ගයෙන් ඉවත් කර යතුරුපැදියත් මාර්ගයෙන් දෙකක් කර සුළු වෙලාවකින් යතුරුපැදියේ පසුපස පැමිණි පුද්ගලයා විසින් නැවත යතුරුපදිය එම ස්ථානයෙන් ඉවත් කරගැනීමට යාමේදී අදාල බහින්බස්වීම සිදුවූ බවත්, අදාල අනතුර සම්බන්ධයෙන් පැමිණිලි පාර්ශවය ලෙස තමන් නාවලපිටිය පොලිසිය දැනුවත් කල බවයි.
එසේම එම අවස්ථාවේ යතුරුපැදියේ පැමිණි පුද්ගලයන් බීමත්ව සිටි බවත්, එහෙත් ඔවුන් සිතා මතා අනතුරක් සිදු නොකළ නිසාවෙන් මෙම සිදුවීම සමථයකට පත් කර ගැනීමට කටයුතු කළ බවත්ය.
මේ පිළිබඳව වැඩිදුර පරීක්ෂණ නාවලපිටිය පොලිසිය විසින් සිදු කරන අතර , මේ වන විට නාවලපිටිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහලට ඇතුළත් කර සිටි යතුරුපැදියේ පැමිණි දෙදෙනා රෝහලින් පිටත්ව ගොස් ඇති බවත්, අනතුරට ලක්වූ පුද්ගලයා මහනුවර ප්‍රදේශයේ පෞද්ගලික රෝහලක ප්‍රතිකාර ලබන බවයි නාවලපිටිය පොලිසිය කියා සිටියේ.

Motorcycle Accident Near Home of Navalpitiya Municipal Council Chairman
A motorcycle accident occurred in the Talawakale Bawwagama area of Navalapitiya, involving a rider on a trail bike, shortly after the individual crossed the street in front of the residence of Amal Priyankara, the chairman of the Navalapitiya Municipal Council. This incident was reported to the police through an emergency call to 119, prompting an immediate investigation.
Following the accident, a brief exchange of words took place between the parties involved. The motorcycle rider and the pillion passenger were both taken to the Navalapitiya District General Hospital for treatment, while the person directly affected by the collision was taken to a private healthcare facility in Kandy.
The injured party is reportedly a close associate of Chairman Priyankara and works as an assistant plantation manager in a nearby estate. According to the police, they were riding the motorcycle at the time of the incident.
In an inquiry conducted by the media, Chairman Priyankara revealed that the individual was visiting him from Colombo to inspect a kovil constructed at their expense in the Galaboda area. The accident occurred as they were returning home, having stopped at the chairman’s hotel before heading out with Priyankara’s son.
After the accident, the associate and the two individuals on the motorcycle moved off the road, later causing the motorcycle to be repositioned by one of the riders who returned to the scene shortly after. The chairman indicated that he had notified the Navalapitiya police about the incident.
Witnesses asserted that the individuals on the motorcycle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. However, they had attempted to resolve the situation amicably, believing that no harm had been caused.
Further investigations are currently being carried out by the Navalapitiya police, who confirmed that both individuals transported to the district hospital have since been discharged, while the accident victim continues to receive treatment at a private hospital in Kandy.
