U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, although he acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding the likelihood of receiving the honor. The Norwegian Nobel Committee is set to announce the winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize this Friday.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump expressed, "I don't know what their decision will be. However, it seems there is a certain notoriety for not awarding it to individuals like me."

Since regaining his position in the White House last year, Trump has regularly emphasized his entitlement to the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, deemed one of the world's most significant awards.

"Now is the appropriate time for that recognition. I have great respect for the individual who was awarded it last year, as she mentioned that no one has ever been more deserving of this honor than President Trump," he noted.

Moreover, the aftermath of attacks targeting Iran by the U.S. and Israel has led to a turbulent climate over the past seven months, severely impacting global energy supplies and contributing to rising fuel prices in the lead-up to America's midterm elections in November.

Current media reports indicate that Pope Leo, the International Criminal Court (ICC), and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian territories are frontrunners for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.
