රටටම සැරටම සැප දෙයි.. ලංගමට සුඛෝපභෝගී බස් 600ක් ගෙනේ..

 2026 වර්ෂයේදී රජයේ ආයෝජන වැඩසටහන යටතේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගමනාගමන මණ්ඩලය වෙත ආසන 49-54 කින් සමන්විත Standard මාදිලියේ නව බස් රථ 600ක් මිල දී ගැනීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 14,400ක අයවැය ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කරනු ලැබ ඇත.

එලෙස ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව, මාර්ග ආරක්ෂණ සැලැස්ම - 2025-2026 හඳුන්වා දී ඇත.

එකී සැලැස්ම යටතේ මගී ප්‍රවාහනය සඳහා යොදා ගනු ලබන බස් රථ ආරක්ෂිත වාහන ලෙස හඳුනාගනු ලැබ තිබේ.

ඒ අනුව, නගරාන්තර හා දුරගමන් සේවා සඳහා භාවිතයට සුදුසු බස් රථ වර්ග සහ ඒවායේ අවම පිරිවිතර පිළියෙල කරනු ලැබ ඇත.

එම පිරිවිතරයන්ට අනුව නගරාන්තර හා දුරගමන් සේවා සඳහා Deluxe මාදිලියේ (වායුසමනය කරන ලද) බස් රථ සේවයේ යෙදවිය යුතු වේ.

ඒ අනුව, දැනටමත් ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කරනු ලැබ ඇති Standard මාදිලියේ නව බස් රථ 600 වෙනුවට Deluxe මාදිලියේ (වායු සමනය කරන ලද) වඩා සුව පහසු බස්රථ මිල දී ගැනීම පිණිස ඉදිරි පියවර ගැනීම සඳහා වැඩබලන ප්‍රවාහන, මහා මාර්ග සහ නාගරික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.

Sri Lanka Allocates Rs. 14.4 Billion for New Bus Fleet Under Government Investment Program

In a significant move for public transportation, the Sri Lanka Transport Board is set to acquire 600 new Standard model buses equipped with 49 to 54 seats, backed by an allocation of Rs. 14.4 billion as part of the government’s investment program for 2026.

This funding comes alongside the introduction of the Road Safety Plan for 2025-2026, which aims to enhance the safety of passenger transport vehicles.

Under this initiative, specific bus models designated for urban and long-distance services have been identified as safe transport options. Detailed specifications have been developed to outline the necessary features for these vehicles.

According to these specifications, Deluxe model air-conditioned buses are to be deployed for urban and long-distance services, indicating a shift toward providing a more comfortable travel experience.

Consequently, plans to purchase more luxurious air-conditioned buses are moving forward, following the Cabinet's approval of a proposal presented by the Minister of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development. This is a departure from the previously allocated Standard model buses, aiming to elevate the standard of public transportation across the country.
