ඔහු පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ වර්තමාන ආණ්ඩුව මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ශක්යතා අධ්යයනයකින් පසු අත්හිට වූ බව ප්රකාශ කිරීම අසත්යයක් බවයි.
මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ආරම්භ කළේ ශක්යතා අධ්යනයකින් අනතුරුව බවත් එය නතර කිරීමට කැබිනට් අනුමැතියක් උවමනා නොමැති බවත්ය.
වර්තමාන ආණ්ඩුවේ විකාර වැඩ දකින විට ජපානය තබා කිසිදු රටක් ණය ලබා නොදෙන බවත් සිය ආණ්ඩුවට ජපාන රජය ණය දීමට එකඟ වූයේද යන එකම ප්රශ්නයට ජනාධිපති අනුර දිසානායකට හැකි නම් පිළිතුරු ලබාදෙන ලෙස අභයෝග කරන බවද කිංස්ලි පෙරේරා මහතා ප්රකාශ කලේය.
Colombo Light Rail Project Halted Due to Japan's Loan Rejection, Claims Opposition
The Colombo light rail project has been suspended following Japan's refusal to provide funding, according to Kingsley Pereira, a member of the United National Front.
Pereira refuted claims made by the current government, asserting that it had paused the project after a feasibility study, describing such statements as misleading.
He emphasized that the initiative was launched following a feasibility study and that cabinet approval was not necessary to halt it.
Highlighting the government's shortcomings, Pereira pointed out that no country, including Japan, is willing to offer loans under the current administration's circumstances. He challenged President Anura Dissanayake to clarify why the Japanese government had initially agreed to extend credit but has since withdrawn its support.
