U.S. Launches Strikes Against Iran in Response to Maritime Attacks

In a swift military response to recent attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. forces have executed a series of powerful strikes targeting military installations in the port city of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. Reports indicate that the strikes primarily focused on key airbases and several military centers across Iran.

This operation was initiated following a direct order from U.S. President Donald Trump during discussions at the NATO summit held in Ankara, Turkey.

The United States has emphasized that Iran's assaults on three civilian commercial ships operating in international waters constitute a violation of the temporary ceasefire agreement previously established between the two nations.

According to the U.S. Central Command, the strikes were strategically aimed at dismantling Iran's air defense systems, drone operational centers, and port facilities.

Alongside the military action, President Trump has taken further steps to intensify economic pressure on Iran. He has swiftly revoked the General License X, which had previously allowed Iran to trade oil and petrochemical products in the global market.

This license, granted on June 22 and valid until August 21, was suspended due to Iran's breach of the agreements, as decided by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

U.S. officials stress that their primary objective is to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime route that accounts for approximately 20% of global oil shipments.

With a firm stance, President Trump warned that "the response to aggression will be aggression." He indicated that should Iran continue its provocative actions, the U.S. would be prepared to take even more severe measures in the future.
