දඹුල්ල විශේෂිත ආර්ථික මධ්‍යස්ථානය වෙත දෛනිකව ලැබෙන එළවළු තොග ප්‍රමාණය කිලෝග්‍රෑම් ලක්ෂ දෙකකින් පමණ සීඝ්‍රයෙන් පහළ ගොස් ඇති බව එම වෙළෙඳ සංගමයේ සභාපති සී.ඒ. සිරිවර්ධන මහතා පවසයි.

පවතින දැඩි වියළි කාලගුණය හේතුවෙන් වගාබිම් විනාශ වීම සහ ගොවීන්ට අවශ්‍ය පොහොර නිසි පරිදි නොලැබීම මෙම සැපයුම් අර්බුදයට ප්‍රධාන හේතු වී ඇති බව ව්‍යාපාරිකයෝ පෙන්වා දෙති.

සාමාන්‍යයෙන් දිනකට එළවළු කිලෝග්‍රෑම් ලක්ෂ හයකට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් වෙළෙඳපොළට ලැබුණ ද, ඊයේ (28) දිනයේදී එම ප්‍රමාණය කිලෝග්‍රෑම් ලක්ෂ හතර දක්වා සීමා වී තිබේ.

සැපයුම සීමා වීමත් සමඟ ඇතැම් එළවළු වර්ගවල මිල ගණන් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති අතර, මාළුමිරිස් කිලෝවක් සඳහා රුපියල් 500-550ත් අතර ඉහළම තොග මිලක් වාර්තා විය. 

එළවළු තොග ලැබීම අඩු වුවද, දිවයිනේ විවිධ ප්‍රදේශවලින් පැමිණෙන තොග ගැනුම්කරුවන්ගේ සහ ජංගම වෙළෙඳුන්ගේ පැමිණීම සාමාන්‍ය පරිදි පැවති බවත්, වෙළෙඳපොළට ලැබුණු සියලුම එළවළු තොග එදිනම අලෙවි වූ බවත් සභාපතිවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය.

Supply of Vegetables in Dambulla Plummets Amidst Severe Drought

The Dambulla Economic Centre is grappling with a rapid decline in daily vegetable supply, which has plummeted to around 200,000 kilograms, according to C.A. Sirivardhana, the Chairman of the market association.

The ongoing severe drought has severely damaged agricultural lands and disrupted the timely delivery of essential fertilizers to farmers, significantly contributing to this supply crisis, industry stakeholders highlight.

Typically, the market receives over 600,000 kilograms of vegetables each day, but the quantity reported yesterday (28th) was limited to just 400,000 kilograms.

With the tightening supply, some vegetable prices have surged; for instance, the wholesale price for a kilogram of green chili has soared to between 500 and 550 rupees.

Despite the reduced supply, the chairman noted that the usual influx of buyers and mobile vendors from various regions continued, with all vegetables received on that day being sold promptly.
