මාලිමා සංවිධායක පහර දී මන්ත‍්‍රී රෝහලේ...

 කොටගල ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ඊරොස්ට් ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදි පක්ෂයේ ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රී ගනේශන් රාජේන්ද්‍රන් මහතාට ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ කොටගල ප්‍රදේශයේ සංවිධායක සහ ආධාරකරුවෙකු කොටගල නගරයේදි පහර දුන් බව පවසමින් එම ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රීවරයා කොටගල ප්‍රාදේශීය රෝහලේ නේවාසිකව ප්‍රතිකාර ලබමින් සිටියි.

ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ කොටගල ප්‍රදේශයේ සංවිධායක සහ ඔහුගේ ආධාරකරුවෙකු විසින් තමන් මෝටර් රථයෙන් (21) දින සවස නිවස කරා යමින් සිටියදී කොටගල නගරයෙදි තම මෝටර් රථය හරස් කර නතර කර එම දෙදෙනාම තමන්ට පහර දී තුවාල සිදු කළේ යැයි පවසමින් මන්ත්‍රීවරයා රෝහල්ගතව ප්‍රතිකාර ලබයි.

මෙම පහර දීම (21) දින පස්වරු 3:00ට පමණ කොටගල නගරයේදි තම මෝටර් රථය තුලදි සිදු කර මෝටර් රථයේ යතුර ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ සංවිධායක සහ ආධාරකරුවා විසින් රැගෙන ගියේ යැයි පවසමින් එම ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා මන්ත්‍රීවරයා දිඹුල පතන පොලිසිය වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක්ද සිදු කර ඇත.

කොටගල ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවේ ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ උප සභාපතිනියට තමන් සභාව තුලදී බැන වැදීම නතර කරන ලෙස බල කරමින් තමන්ට පහර දුන් බවයි එම මන්ත්‍රීවරයා කියා සිටියේ.

තවද (21) දින පස්වරුවේ සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා කොටගල නගරයේ පිහිටි තම නිවසට ගොස් මෙම සිද්ධිය පොලිසිය වෙත පැමිණිලි කලහොත් මීට වඩා දේවල් වලට ඉදිරියෙදි මුහුණ පෑමට සිදු වන බව තරයෙ මතක තබා ගන්නා ලෙසට එම සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා බිරිදට තර්ජනය කර ඇති බවයි මන්ත්‍රීවරයා කියා සිටියේ.

පහර දුන්නේ යැයි කියන සැකකරුවන් දෙදෙනා අදාළ මන්ත්‍රිවරයා තමන්ට පහර දුන් බව පවසමින් නාවලපිටිය දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහල වෙත ගොස් නේවාසිකව ප්‍රතිකාර ලබන බවත්, එම සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනා රෝහලෙන් බැහැර වීමෙන් පසු එම සැකකරුවන් තිදෙනාට එරෙහිව හැටන් මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවේ නෛතික පියවර ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇති බවයි දිඹුල පතන පොලිසියේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරයා කියා සිටියේ.

Attack on Local Councillor Leaves Community in Shock

A violent incident has left Ganeshan Rajendran, a local government councillor from the National People’s Power Party in Kotagala, hospitalized following an assault in the town. The councillor is currently receiving treatment at the Kotagala Base Hospital after being attacked on the evening of the 21st.

According to the councillor, he and an aide were driving home when their vehicle was deliberately blocked and they were assaulted. He reported that the assailants, also linked to the National People’s Power Party, caused injuries to both him and his aide during the confrontation.

The attack occurred around 3:00 PM on September 21 as the councillor was navigating through Kotagala. It was alleged that the attackers seized the keys to his vehicle during the incident. Following the assault, Rajendran promptly filed a complaint with the police in Dimbulaththe.

In a twist to the unfolding drama, the councillor claimed that the assault was politically motivated. He accused the deputy chairperson of the National People’s Power in the Kotagala local council of provoking the attack in an attempt to silence him regarding a dispute over procedural misconduct within the council.

Furthermore, Rajendran highlighted that the two suspects had threatened his family, indicating that if police involvement occurred, they would face more severe repercussions in the future. This suggests an ongoing tension within local political circles that could escalate if not addressed.

The suspects allegedly responsible for the attack were identified as receiving treatment at the Naula District Hospital after claiming injuries sustained during the altercation. Local police chief confirmed that after these individuals are discharged, legal proceedings will be initiated at the Hatton Magistrate’s Court against them.

The incident has raised grave concerns within the community about political violence and the safety of elected officials.
