 මොරටුව විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය තුළ ඩෙංගු රෝගය ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් ව්‍යාප්ත වීම හේතුවෙන් ඊයේ (06) සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි සති දෙකක කාලයක් සඳහා විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය තාවකාලිකව වසා දැමීමට පාලනාධිකාරිය පියවර ගෙන තිබේ.

විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රය තුළින් මේ වන විට ඩෙංගු රෝගීන් 50කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් හඳුනාගෙන ඇති අතර, රෝග ව්‍යාප්තිය පාලනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම තීරණය ගත් බව පාලනාධිකාරිය සඳහන් කරයි.

විශේෂයෙන්ම මේ දිනවල විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ විභාග කටයුතු පැවැත්වෙන අතර, උණ රෝගය වැළඳී සිටි ඇතැම් සිසුන් ද විභාග සඳහා පෙනී සිට ඇති බවට තොරතුරු අනාවරණය වී ඇත.

මෙම තත්ත්වය රෝගය තවදුරටත් ව්‍යාප්ත වීමට දැඩි අවදානමක් මතු කර ඇති බැවින්, වහාම ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි අධ්‍යයන කටයුතු නතර කිරීමට බලධාරීන් තීරණය කර තිබේ.

විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය භෞතිකව වසා තැබුණ ද, සිසුන්ගේ අධ්‍යයන කටයුතු අඛණ්ඩව පවත්වාගෙන යාම සඳහා මාර්ගගත ක්‍රමය ඔස්සේ දේශන පවත්වන බව පාලනාධිකාරිය වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කරයි.

ඒ අනුව, ලබන 21 වනදා විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය යළි විවෘත කිරීමට නියමිතය.

Moratuwa University Temporarily Closed Amid Dengue Outbreak

In a swift response to a rising dengue fever outbreak, Moratuwa University has announced a two-week closure effective from yesterday, October 6. The decision aims to contain the rapid spread of the virus within the campus.

Currently, more than 50 cases of dengue have been identified among students and staff, prompting university authorities to take decisive action to manage the situation. This measure comes at a critical time when examinations are being conducted, with reports indicating that some students infected with the virus have still been attending these assessments.

The situation poses a serious risk of further transmission of the disease, leading university officials to prioritize health and safety by halting in-person academic activities immediately.

Despite the physical closure of the university, authorities have assured that educational activities will continue uninterrupted through online platforms to support students' learning needs.

The university is expected to reopen on October 21, provided that the health situation improves.
