මෙරට පාතාල කල්ලි සාමාජිකයන් ලෙස කටයුතු කරන්නේ අන් කවරෙකුවත් නොව, මේ රටේ අහිංසක දුප්පත් මව්පියන්ගේ දරුවන් බව කඩුවෙල නගරාධිපති රන්ජන් ජයලාල් මහතා පවසයි.

මාධ්‍ය වෙත අදහස් දක්වමින් ඒ මහතා අවධාරණය කළේ, අතීතයේ සිටි ඇතැම් දේශපාලනඥයන් විසින් තම පටු අරමුණු ඉටුකර ගැනීම සඳහා මෙම තරුණයන්ව පාතාලය වෙත යොමු කර ඇති බවයි.

"පාතාලය කියලා කියන්නේ මේ රටේ දුප්පත් අම්මලා තාත්තලාගේ දරුවෝ. ඒ අයට ඔය වගේ පසුබිමක් හැදුවේ ඉතිහාසයේ හිටපු ඇතැම් දේශපාලනඥයෝ. ඒ අය තමන්ගේ අතවැසියෝ විදිහට මේ දරුවන්ව තියාගත්තා. අද පාතාලයේ ඉන්නේ දේශපාලනඥයන්ගේ දරුවෝ නෙමෙයි, දක්ෂතාවය සහ ධෛර්යය තියෙන අහිංසක තරුණයෝ," යැයි නගරාධිපතිවරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

වත්මන් රජයේ සහ ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ අරමුණ පාතාලය මර්දනය කිරීම පමණක් නොව, එවැනි තත්ත්වයන්ට ඇද වැටී සිටින අහිංසක තරුණයන් ඉන් මුදාගෙන ඔවුන්ට නිවැරදි මග පෙන්වීම බව ද හෙතෙම සඳහන් කළේය.

පාතාලය සහ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය උවදුර රටින් තුරන් කිරීම ජනතාවගේ ප්‍රධාන බලාපොරොත්තුවක් බවත්, රජය ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී රාමුව තුළ සිටිමින් එම වගකීම ඉටු කිරීමට කැපවී සිටින බවත් ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

දෙවිනුවර දේවාලයේ පෙරහැර කටයුතු සම්බන්ධයෙන් මතු වූ තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව ද අදහස් දැක්වූ රන්ජන් ජයලාල් මහතා, එය රටේ පැවති කේදජනක තත්ත්වයක පිළිඹිබුවක් බවත්, ඉදිරියේදී එවැනි තත්ත්වයන් ඇති නොවීමට රජය සහ ආරක්ෂක අංශ නිසි පියවර ගනු ඇති බවට තමන් විශ්වාස කරන බවත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.

Mayor Ranjan Jayalal Highlights Vulnerability of Youth Involved in Underworld Activities

In a striking revelation, Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal has emphasized that the individuals engaged in gang-related activities in the country are mostly the innocent children of impoverished families. His comments shed light on the pressing issue of youth falling prey to the underworld's allure.

Addressing the media, Jayalal pointed out that certain politicians in the past have manipulated these young individuals for their ulterior motives, effectively pushing them toward a life of crime. "These so-called gang members are the children of poor mothers and fathers in our country. Their unfortunate circumstances were shaped by some political figures of the past who exploited them for personal gain. Today, the people remaining in these gangs are not the children of political figures but are innocent youths filled with talent and resilience," he stated.

The Mayor noted that the current government's strategy is not only to eradicate criminal syndicates but also to rescue these vulnerable youths and guide them toward better paths. He underscored the importance of providing these individuals with opportunities rather than marginalizing them further.

Highlighting the public’s aspirations for the elimination of drug-related issues and gang violence, he reiterated the government's commitment to fulfilling this responsibility within a democratic framework.

Commenting on the recent disturbance during the procession at the Devinuwara Temple, Jayalal described it as a reflection of the disturbing situation prevailing in the country. He expressed confidence that proper measures would be taken by the government and security forces to prevent such occurrences in the future.
