86 වැනි වියේ පසුවූ අයතුල්ලා අලි ඛමේනි පසුගිය පෙබරවාරි 28 වැනිදා ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත් විය.

ඉරානයට එරෙහිව ඇමරිකාව සහ ඊශ්‍රායලය ආරම්භ කළ යුද්ධයේ පළමු දිනයේදී, ඔහුගේ නිල නිවාස සංකීර්ණය ඉලක්ක කරගනිමින් එල්ල කළ ඒකාබද්ධ ගුවන් ප්‍රහාරයකින් මෙම මරණය සිදුවිය.

Deputy Speaker and Opposition MP Depart for Iran to Attend Ceremony for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Rizwi Salih, and Opposition MP Rauf Hakeem have departed for Tehran, Iran, to participate in the state funeral ceremonies for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Deputy Speaker is joining this trip as a representative of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The elaborate funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei are scheduled to take place in the Iranian capital, Tehran, this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was 86 years old, passed away on February 28 of this year.

His death occurred during a coordinated airstrike targeting his official residence complex on the first day of the war initiated by the United States and Israel against Iran.
