 ලෝක වෙළඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ගණන්වල පවතින උච්චාවචනයන් හමුවේ, ලබන මාසයේදී මෙරට ඉන්ධන මිල සංශෝධනය කරන්නේද යන්න පිළිබඳව මෙතෙක් අවසන් තීරණයක් ගෙන නොමැති බව ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව කරයි.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ වෛද්‍ය මයුර නෙත්තිකුමාරගේ මහතා පවසන්නේ, මිල සංශෝධනය පිළිබඳ තීරණය මාසික මිල නියම කිරීමේ කාලසීමාව තුළ පවතින සාමාන්‍ය ජාත්‍යන්තර තෙල් මිල මත පදනම් වන බවයි.

මිල නියම කිරීමේ කාලසීමාව අවසන් වීමට තවත් දින කිහිපයක් ඉතිරිව ඇති බැවින්, මිල ඉහළ යන්නේද නැද්ද යන්න පිළිබඳව මේ මොහොතේ නිශ්චිතව ප්‍රකාශ කළ නොහැකි බව ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කර ඇත.

ඊශ්‍රායලය, ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදය සහ ඉරානය අතර පවතින නවතම ගැටුම්කාරී තත්ත්වය හේතුවෙන් ගෝලීය බලශක්ති සැපයුමට බාධා එල්ල විය හැකි බවට මතුව ඇති බිය හමුවේ ලෝක වෙළඳපොළේ බොරතෙල් මිල පසුගිය මැයි මාසයෙන් පසු ප්‍රථම වතාවට බැරලයක් ඩොලර් 100 සීමාව ඉක්මවා ගොස් තිබේ.

පසුගිය බ්‍රහස්පතින්දා වන විට බ්‍රෙන්ට් වර්ගයේ බොරතෙල් මිල සියයට 5කට වඩා වැඩි අගයකින් ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති අතර, රතු මුහුදේ තෙල් නැව් ඉලක්ක කර ගනිමින් හූති සටන්කාමීන් එල්ල කරන ප්‍රහාර හේතුවෙන් ප්‍රධාන නාවික ගමන් මාර්ගවල ආරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳව ද දැඩි අවදානමක් මතුව ඇත.

මෙම ගෝලීය බලශක්ති මිල ඉහළ යාම දැනටමත් ලොව පුරා රටවල් කිහිපයක පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට සෘජුවම බලපා ඇත.

Uncertainty Surrounds Fuel Price Adjustments in Sri Lanka Amidst Global Market Fluctuations

As global fuel prices continue to soar, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has yet to finalize decisions regarding potential adjustments to local fuel prices in the coming month.

Dr. Mayura Neththikumarage, the Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, highlighted that any price adjustments will be based on the average international oil prices within the monthly pricing timeframe.

With only a few days remaining in the price-setting period, he noted that it is impossible to provide a definitive statement about whether prices will rise or not at this moment.

Concerns have emerged regarding disruptions to global energy supplies due to escalating tensions among Israel, the United States, and Iran, which have driven crude oil prices to surpass the $100 mark for the first time since May.

As of the previous Thursday, Brent crude oil prices had increased by over five percent. Additionally, attacks by Houthi militants targeting oil vessels in the Red Sea have raised significant security concerns along major maritime routes.

This rise in global energy prices is already impacting consumers in several countries worldwide.
